I know you despise Sheeraz about as much as I do, I'm curious if you think Adames has any chance at the upset. I've seen some footage of Adames before but not a lot and nothing that impressive. I'm hoping his pressure-heavy, awkward, clubbing style will mean he catches Sheeraz with something decent and hurts that suspect chin of his.
Beterbiev by decision in another close fight. Dubois points, maybe a SD, it's going too be close. Sheeraz KO Madrimov KO Stevenson UD Buatsi UD Kabayel UD
Bivol UD - I thought he won the first time, and I think he'll be a bit better/even more active this time. Wouldn't be surprised with any result here, or with dodgy judging, but all in all I think Bivol will make the better adjustments. Parker TKO - Wouldn't be surprised if Dubois scored the KO early, but if this goes past the 6th I think Dubois starts to tire (reminds me of Ray Mercer, a 'six round fighter') and Parker will ware him down, make him quit. Kabayel UD - I think this is more competitive than a lot of people on here. But Kabayel is a great body puncher, and Zhang gets naturally tired even without a hammering to the body (but if either of these two is getting KO'd it's Kabayel not Zhang). Sheeraz KO - begrudingly. Sounds like Queensberry have tried some dodgy stuff too, stopping Adames from getting to Saudi until a few days before the fight. I'm rooting for Adames. But I think Sheeraz will knock him out early. Shakur TKO - Think this will be a one-sided fight. Shakur won't have developed punching power since his last fight but this will be too much of jump for Schofield and i see the ref/his team calling it a day before the final bell. Ortiz Jr. KO - I'm one of the few that actually thought Ortiz outpointed Bohachuk (very close) and I think Madrimov is overrated from the Crawford fight. I expect a great win for Ortiz. Buatsi UD - I really like Buatsi, hope he continues his winning streak, he's picking up some good wins, but for some reason his power seems to have gone. Will be interesting to see if Smith's heart is still in it tho.
I'm warming to Sheer Ass a little, he's been shoring up his defense and correcting many of the technical flaws I saw in him earlier. Adames runs hot and cold, but is usually looks like ass when in against a decent opponent. He should have lost to Gausha, who basically schooled him, he got a gift against Derevyanchenko as well. The J-Rock fight, he was only ahead by a point on IB and I's scorecards. Also the loss to Teixeira was more lopsided than the cards reflect. If Carlos sells out and goes wild winging in overhand rights, he has a chance early. But he tends to be skittish when in with a heavy handed opponent and start overthinking, especially one as sharp as Sheeraz. So in all likelihood, he gets sparked out early.
I have place the following multi bet $100 at $5.86 all head to head bets Kabayel over Zhang Buatsi over Smith Sheeraz over Adames Dubois over Parker (this one pains me a bit because I would love for Joe to win and I am not counting him out.)
The more I think about it, the more I think he can pull off not just a decision win, but one so dominant, that they can't rob him. I wasn't jumping the gun and proclaiming Floyd as the second coming yet, but he's been quietly impressing me for quite some time now. To the point where I now view him as a special fighter, far more special than Shakur. He actually reminds me of a two fisted stance switching version of Manny Pacquiao. The pressure he applies is relentless, his herky jerky movement, his feints, his foot feints, his reflexive, effortless and diverse angles and punch selection, his blistering hand speed, his understanding of range even while coming forward, the ease with which he cuts the ring off, his strength in the clinch and ability to negate them and most importantly... his balls, which is something many young American fighters lack. Will all serve him very well this Saturday. The kid is a ****ing prodigy, and might have one of those Galal Yafai-Sunny Edwards holy ****! like blitzes. Which I also predicted.
At first, I wasn't particularly that excited for Stevenson V Schofeld but you're actually doing a good job in hyping me up for this fight. I can defo see Schofeld surprising a lot of people, and his stock will go up. I really like your confidence in Schofeld here.
Thinking about it he is probably the toughest opponent of Shakur's career. I would love to see Schofield cause the upset.
He hardly did anything, the fight was a cagey bore, I feel if Bud went into a higher gear he would have stopped Madrimov.
My initial predictions are as follows: Bivol PTS Parker TKO Adames KO Madrimov KO Stevenson PTS Buatsi KO Zhang KO
I just can't pull the trigger on picking Schofield for the win in the prediction league but Im right there with you rooting for a Floyd win.
Coulda, woulda, shoulda, we're not judging Bud based on what you feel, which is irrelevant, but on what he did. Which was fight like a cagey bore as well. They were both scared of one another and fought super cautiously, because their skill level is similar.
