It should do in the vicinity of 1mil. I believe both GBP and the Pac team will be extremely dissapointed with those numbers......Roach for example mentioned not so long ago that it would do what Mayweather-DLH did, which is just ridiculous. The fight in itself is a total mismatch. If it were promoted like any other PPV matchup, it likely do Cotto-Margarito numbers, which I believe were in the 500K range......but because alot is being invested with the 24/7 and other outside promotional gimmicks.....its likely to double Cotto-Margarito PPV buys.
I wouldn't be surprised if they're low. The economy sucks and will Mexicans really feel obliged to buy this one?
honestly I dont think this fight has a lot of people buzzing then what people make it out to be. I say the numbers will be anywhere from 750k to 1 million buys. This is not going to break the Oscar-Mayweather record I mean theres really know hype around it and 24/7 series is not even that great plus the economy is not that good.Consider all those factors it should get good PPV numbers but not exceeding 1.5 million buys if it does i would be impress.
500k at most. Calzaghe-Jones had a pretty good promotion and Jones did 510k vs. Tito without 24/7. This one had 24/7, and numbers still sucked. Don't expect anything huge. People are short on money, they'll spend it on bills and presents for Christmas, not on a circus show.
