When it's all said and done, how do you guys predict GGG will be looked at 20 years after retirement? I think he's phenomenal. I would say he will go down as an ATG. From what I've seen, he's a top 50 puncher of all time. His main weakness is his age. Will he get enough important wins under his belt? Will he be a successful title holder? If I had to guess, I think he will be a great champion for at least a couple years.
I'm no historian but I think the dude is awesome. I want to see him in epic battles, but maybe it's too late? Just gotta' hope one or two of the young up and comers will be good enough to provide him some competition before he retires.
He's going to be a HOF by the end of his career. In terms of ability, an ATG. Depending on what Derevyanchenko goes to achieve (if he ends up as good as he was in WSB), he'd have a very good name on his resume. Ultimately, he's like Mayweather. No at-or-near prime ATG on his resume because of how underwhelming the era is.
How underwhelming, you got to be kidding man, just because fmj and ggg stand superior to their competitor's, that in no way should sway the era's elite level era's. . If fmj and ggg were less great, you'd think there were greater because they would have epic wins. They lack of true in ring challenges for these two is a direct reflection of how simply, unparalleled great these two are. They make (fmj proved it time & time again) elite fighter's (ggg will also prove this) look less than elite and great fighters look ordinary and make good fighters look bad.. You're confusing yourself, thinking the era is lacking because never before has anyone ever seen elite champions be too great to have real rivals. For fmj, we had to wait for him to reach his late 30's (all prior greats had been beaten badly by inferior opponents) for him to look beatable. Ggg has not reach that point yet, so you're so lost as to what you've been witnessing you're trying to come up with reasons, like a weak era. Total rubbish. This is nothing like wlad dominating a terrible hw division for a decade. The real reason it was terrible was due to wlad being 6'6" 250 lb shredded and Manny tough to him how to win using his gifted size. Now we have hw his size and they would crush him. Fmj and ggg are always the smaller fighter in the ring and they're dominating with skills you simply cannot comprehend how that's possible. That must suck man, not understanding what you've witnessed and are currently witnessing.. Kovalev and Joshua are two more fighters that must make you confused, is it them or their opponents. Keep watching, you're not going to see another group like you've witnessed over the last couple decades through another decade, thanks to joshua and ggg / kovalev going strong another 5 yea re s
I think Derevyanchenko is going to be the one to beat him. Guy is awesome. Brings a tear to my eye watching him. Was it you or Vytosky that introduced me to him by showing me his WSB videos? One of you were actually praising the fighter that beat him, but I was more interested in Derevyanchenko because he was more exciting.
