Predictions: Steve Molitor vs Jason Booth (IBF Super Bantamweight title)

I genuinely think Booth is catching Molitor at the right time. Molitor hasnt been too impressive since Caballero, He was dropped by the a guy who was ranked number 7 in Argentina. Booths obviously better suited to bantamweight but I think he can pull this one off. I can see Molitor tiring badly and booth winning on points. 116-112 or 117-111

 

I've got a feeling for Booth here aswell, I think he might just break Molitors heart. Hope he does anyway, this would be quite a story.

 

Whilst Molitor isnt at his best, I think we forget Booth was being comfortably beaten by Matthew Marsh last time. He isnt a natural super bantam(nowhere near) I could see Molitor in the end stopping Booth. Which is a gutter cos its a unreal story. Good luck Boothy

 

My heart says that Booth will win a close points decision just like Napa did in his crowning night against Ballone, where he struggled to get in on the inside in the beginning, but eventually started to do so and had success working the body and dropping Ballone.

My head says that Molitor will win a fairly unanimous points decision.

 

Booth seems a little small to me, depends what Molitor has left but on the other hand Booth was struggling with Marsh last time out, what has Booth got left you could ask, I am taking Molitor.

 

I've had a sneeky bet on Molitor to stop him @ 5/2

 

Really hope Booth pulls it off but i can't see anything other than Molitor winning.

 

I think we have been buoyed by the Burns win a few weeks back i said though i hope Booth wins i think Molitor breezes this. Now my heart is ruling my head and im praying for Booth to do the business Molitor is in decline, Booth has superior boxing skills, Booth has the hunger and the mental edge wishful thinking? We will find out

Unfortunately, I think Molitor will win it inside the distance. I'm hoping to be proved wrong though as I'd love to see Booth become a world champion!!

 

Is it just me or has this fight been marketed very poorly? I seriously doubt that your average man on the street in Sunderland has the first idea that there is a world title fight on Saturday night, whereas I heard several people going on about the Khan fight when he defended the title in Newcastle up towards the back end of last year.

Anyways my prediction now is that Booth wins on points, I think he's getting Molitor at the perfect time. Expect Molitor to show flashes but Booth to outwork him to a decision.

 

I hope Booth wins, of course I do. But I really can't see it happening. I thought the same about Burns though, I hope I'm wrong again.

 

Maybe I am still full of adrenalin from the Burns fight but I believe Booth can do this. But when you are the underdog I always believe you've gotta unsettle the favourite early. Give him something to think about and get the crowd behind you early.

I hope that Booth's heart doesn't rule his head too strongly and does smart stuff. Molitor has obviously a much much higher quality of opposition and but he's not on the way up and I don't think he can be number one in the division. Not that Booth is a spring chicken but I really do believe this can have a fairytale ending and Booth can edge a points decision.

Two British underdog victories in a week? I believe.

 

I believe Booth can win. Rewatched the Hunter-Molitor fight and i must say i overrated his performance in that fight. It was scrappy and he was also rattled at times. Hunter lost a fair bit of my respect watching that last night. He basically give up when going got tough.

Molitor has hand problems and hasn't shone since Winning the IBF title the first time. He likes fighters to come onto him and make glaring mistakes. He's mentally not in best shape, He refuses to accept that he lost to a better fighter In Caballero. He cites many excuses and wants to bury that night but the Media and us as fans can't. It was to one sided to be just erased from memories.

Booth's best chance is in the pocket. His left hook over Molitors right will land and also bodyshots. Jason's very underrated body puncher. Molitor has long arms and legs so it's best to get close and unsettle the Canadian Kid. When at Range Jason needs to mix up his attacks, Using lots of Lateral movement and forcing Molitor to his left which he doesn't like. He prefers to move off to his right. He has to start fast and find rhythm and stop Molitor getting into groove.

I think if Booth shows positive aggression and puts it on Molitor from get go he can break the mentally weak Champion and win 116-112 UD. For a memorable night in the North East.
