I had Leonard knocking out Hearns in 5 in their 1989 rematch. I also had Tyson beating Spinks by a late round stoppage. I wasn't thinking 91 seconds. LOL
after the olympics, i thought audley harrison was going to be the next lennox lewis. i knew when julius francis went 12 rounds with him, it was over.
McCallum-Watson At the very least, I figured Watson would give The Bodysnatcher hell, and was picking him to win the fight. So, naturally, McCallum produces one of the most dominant performances of his career, and batters his foe into defeat after comprehensively beating him down and schooling him.
I'm a bit embarassed to admit this one as it's nearly as bad as Azzer picking Audley over Haye in hindsight. I thought Michael Grant was going to beat Lennox Lewis and become the next Heayweight force. I thought he'd shown guts in rising off the floor to outlast Golota and that was the only question mark I had about him (I was too dumb to twig that his chin was complete dog****). I thought the Golota fight was the struggle he needed to prove he had what it took against the best. I thought Lewis would struggle because for the first time he was facing an even bigger man who was more athletically gifted (yep I was dumb enough to think that because Grant was good at basketball that'd somehow translate into the ring) and that Grant would have no problem reaching Lewis' dodgy chin. I don't know why I thought this and reading what I've wrote it still sounds like I'm trying to justify it to myself but I really did **** that one up.
After the Mayweather fight, when De La Hoya (for like the 10th time) talked about going down to welterweight, I said there was no way in hell he would go back to 147, and that he was just bullshitting. I also said Oscar would be a zombie going back there. So I would've been right on that part, except my brilliant mind said "nah, Oscar will be alright at 147 and will be too big for Pacquiao".
Hatton over Pac...would have happened if not for that damn mayweather showing up late for training sessions.
Im with all the people saying they thought Hatton was gonna beat Pacman, I was so sure Hatton was going to beat him for some reason, boyyyy was I wrong. I bet a bunch of my friends who dont even really follow boxing, I was so pissed after that one haha
I called Pacquiao to stop Hatton. Didn't understand how anyone thought otherwise, really. I didn't think it would be in that manner, though.
Trinidad and Winky Wright..... I personally know Winky and went out on a limb thinking that Felix had way too much power and that Winky would stay in a shell... first time I actually bet against Winky and first time betting while staying in Las Vegas... was happy and shocked at the same time....
your pick sounds bad now but it was totally justified at that time. grant was undefeated and showed guts beating golota. the moment completely overwhelmed grant. i know, i was at the fight.
