.....Miguel Cotto prefers a fight against Shane Mosley over Antonio Margarito. Richard Schaefer, the CEO for Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions, confirms to SI that there have been preliminary talks with Cotto's promoter Bob Arum in regards to a possible fight between Cotto and Mosley. Schaefer went on to add that Cotto wanted Mosley over Margarito even before Margarito was suspended for improper hand wraps. "I was told even before (the Margarito suspension) that Cotto preferred to fight Shane over Margarito," said Schaefer, adding: I'm sure we will talk some more."

Well I'm Gutted that Cotto/Margarito 2 is now in the bin, but this fight goes quite some way in making up for it.

No reason this shouldn't be happening in the summer with no Margarito or Mayweather to confuse matters. With Team Pacquiao apparently open to a Mosley fight, who knows, we might be getting Cotto/Pacquiao somehow in a twist of fate. :think

Good news, this is the fight that needs to happen at 147. #1 vs. #2. The winner of this fight is THE GUY at welterweight. Can't wait to see it.

I think Shane could win the rematch the loss really took something outta him. Unlike Margarito, Cotto got beat up and bloodied while on the backfoot for the last few rounds. He won't be able to absorb shots like he use to.
