did you follow boxing back then? of course not, it was before your time. If you did you wold know that Lennox was talking retirement after he beat up Tua, but he wanted to fight Tyson before he called it a day. After he beat Tyson, he saw no other challenges, But instead of retiring he was going to take on one last fight and that was Johnson. That was primarily due his connection with Canada . . . Johnson backed out and in step Big V. To answer you question about premature retirement . . . MMH after the SRL fight. He retired at his peak because he could not get SRL back in the ring. The only other possible answer would be young George Foreman
The lewis comment was just stupid. He won gold medal and then turned pro cleaned out the hwd and retired at 38. Honestly **** off you dumb ****. The VK fight shows his best day were behind them. So r u stupid ? Good thread ruined by a troll question And hatton. Joe Cal. Joe Mesi but he had too. Sultan ibragimov. Naz. Georgeforeman but he came back. Mayweather the first time cause there was lots of good contenders. Maybe haye?
I just check for threads and man honestly sounds like you wanna suck VK's ****. You will grow up soon enought and stop childish bias threads.
I agree about Joe there was some huge challenges out there but instead he completely walked away. But he made his fortune and called it a day but I think he should had a rematch with bhop . . . because I thought the ending was close (i had bhop winning). thats not to mention dawson, tarver . . . etc. Hatton, could have fought on but I think after getting KOed into the turnbuckle and get beat down by pac after it was to much for him to handle. His heart was no longer in the game anymore so it was a good time to go Naz, god I forgot all about him . . . great call. As for LL I think if he wanted to get back to the Gym and train hard he had a lot left in the tank. He could have beat Big V in a rematch. had a lovefeast win over ruiz, beat down Byrd . . . but the last 2 especially not appeal to him at. The prospect of fighting Byrd and Ruiz . . . before Big V was even on the radar led to LL think about retirement in the first place. Tua was the last potential big challenge, he stuck it out after that because he wanted to get Tyson in the ring but Rahman was the mandatory . . . and the rest is history.
