Prescott impressed me early on. Battered McCloskey to a pulp, as Khan could not do.

I can see Prescott's problem--he puts everything he has into nearly all his punches. Thus he tires himself out. He goes for the KO all the time. That's how he surprised Khan the first time--no feeling out, just bombs from the getgo.

Frankly I think he still has a good chance to beat Khan if they ever fought. I guess that determines that it won't happen.

Money is the name of the game supposdely. And both pro-Khan and anti-Khan boxing fans would pay to see the fight with Prescott.

It was said that Prescott had nothing left. He proved otherwise yesterday, with many people saying he got the usual home-town robbery.

In any case, he looked great the first half of the fight. Arguably also won the 12th--to me.

A fight with Khan would big, money-wise. Fans want it. But alas probably never happen, especially since Precott still has that power in his punches.

Just realized that awarding the fight to McCloskey also enables Khan to duck him more easily.

I don't think we should hold such negative assumptions. Like you said - money talks and this fight would sell. An aspiring pound for pound king would surely want to settle the score and avenge his solitary defeat.

Prescott showed against McCloskey that he's still got it.

Khan haters should just stop this nonsense. WTF have Prescott done at 140 to deserve a fight with AK? Granting he lost a close fight with McCloskey but the fact that Paul made it a fight tells you everything about Prescott. Maidana would beat him. Kotelnik would beat him. Judah would beat him and all those three got ****ed by Khan. Prescott beat a drained Amir and at 140 he'll get raped plain and simple.

I've not seen the fight, but losing a close decision against a Paul McCloskey - who couldn't win a single minute of a single round against Khan - doesn't really mean much. It's a no-win situation for Khan. If he fights him beats him easily, you'll get those same people saying Prescott was never that good to begin with, and at 140, where is power is nothing, the win doesn't mean much. ****, you'll even get prats demanding a 3rd fight to settle the score fully.

The exact same thing happened with Maidana. One moment the ***** won't fight him because he can't take his shots, and after he does fight him and beat him in a war, he's now ducking a rematch with him.

hence why he was so happy on twitter right after the fight, khans hould have fought prescott instead of mccloskey, it would have sold well in England then and he would have avenged his loss.
It doesnt really matter in the long run though but I would still like to have seen him try.

Khan needs to rematch Presscott, when the moment is right i.e. no belts on the line (higher ranked fighters in front of him) & given the really shitty end of any purse split. Wonder how desperate would Presscott be then for a rematch given he's trying to push in front of more deserving fighters who have actually earned the right to challenge for the titles?

both mccloskey and presscot are levels below world level and khan, i thought prescott deserved the win last night but not a rematch with khan, even if he had got the descison a close victory over mccloskey does not earn you a world title fight with the number one in the division, sadly i think there is a chance it will get made for december

Prescott's conditioning is frankly terrible, he gases out after 4 rounds and loads up with every punch... only he losses his snap and the majority of his power in the later rounds. Khan destroys him.

take khans name out the equation for a minute (if thats possible)

ive never seen guys push for a fight for a guy that either

    1) knocks out complete bums
    2) LOSES EVERY fight against a ranked contender .sorry hes 0-3 in his step up fights

    3) now he cant punch is way out of a wet paper bag, even against unranked guys
unranked meaning, not even the top 100

hes had 7 fights since his lucky punch fight
he has 4 wins 3 LOSSES and 1 KO <------- (ONE KO)

so even if the undeserving prescott was granted a mercy fight against a guy whos since went on and done this

why do you even think Prescott can win? hes proved his a one hit wonder by definition

does it not amaze you the incredible dumb ****s on these boards?

they hate khan so much...they still he rematch that club fighter after he has unified the belts at 140 while having been in real world title fights with real top caliber guys and beating them...6 world title fights at 24 years old..and the great prescott is fighting

    W10 Bayan Jargal 15-1-3
    W10 Harrison Cuello 19-12-3
    TKO3 Jason Davis 11-6-1 :rofl

If he further impresses, then I hope so. It would be interesting to see Khan try to outbox a tall guy who can switch into KO mode at any moment with unpredictable punches. I'd favor Khan by a good deal, but if Prescott can keep his name in the headlines, then people will pay to see it. It would be a hell of a lot better than seeing him rematch McCLoskey again, that's for sure.
