It pains me to agree with your Palmer

I was hoping for Gavin Rees

I suppose the tactic is to now wait title shot without taking any risks although i think McCloskey would handle Rees

Rees would have been decent but he is moving to Lightweight. Is Murrays mandatory for the British.

Suprised there not going to keep him on Sky for his UK fanbase, hopefully we get the web stream.

I really rate McCloskey think he is class. If I was his team I would of got him to New York or Boston and built up the US intrest.

How else would you see the fight ? Firstly by attempting to be impartial and look at the performances of Morrison in each and every one of his title fights before being disrespectful - where was there a mismatch in any of those ? - admittedly McCloskey is a better boxer than any of the 3 mentioned previously and has more mobility etc, however my issue is with the blatent disregard to a good solid honest professional athlete who has been given the opportunity to achieve a tremendous goal by working hard and diligently at a decent level to enable this opportunity to be realised.

With respect to your quote about losing to a fighter McCloskey dominated and stopped. I assume you are talking about Colin Lynes. At the time Barry fought Lynes he (Lynes) went on to win and defend the Euro title and defend on (I think) two occassions. This again in my opinion should not be used as a method to measure McCloskeys superiority, as the Lynes that fought McCloskey was a pale shadow of the individual who ran and counter punched Barry for 12 rounds in Motherwell.

Good work with your research Mrs Marple however ?? Who are the 7 British Fighters who deserve a euro shot before Barry ? Could this include the above mentioned Lynes ? Jason Cook ? David Barnes? Daws ? Rees ?- based on what ? Lynes subsequent capitulation to McCloskey? Cooks draw with Daws ? The invisible Barnes ? Lenny (The Draw) Daws ?. Rees ( no3 Lightweight in Britain behind Murray and Mitchell). Lets get real -do you honestly believe that there are 7 more deserving of a Euro shot than Barry - I have to disagree-

    Later:hi:

Yeh none of his fights have been shown other than sky and hes been so far down the undercard for london bouts I havent made it from work. Besises those 4 fights tell us all we need to know about Morrison.

the 2nd paragraph doesn't even deserve a response. your bias is laughable.

    1. Oleguseun
    2. Daws
    3. Rees
    4. Cook
    5. O'Donnell
    6. Wright
    7. Williams
    8. Lynnes

All deserve a shot more than Morrison and all but Williams are ranked higher by the EBU. How can you claim Daws deserves a shot less than Morrison....when he just stopped him? Or are none of them good honest profesionals

I have no problem with Morrison fighting for a Celtic or Scottish title, fighting an up and comer like Gavin, Nurse, Woodhouse or Evangelou. Thats the level he belongs at.

Infact I wouldn't be shocked if the reason this fight isnt being show by Sky is because they wouldn't accept Morrison as an opponent.

Its a shocking and pointless fight.

I agree with Rob. Morrison hasn't had a meaningful win for ages and doesn't deserve to be having a crack at the Euro title.
