Just wondering how you would go about obtaining one? Like if you wrote for a paper, or could you write for a website?

If you did, how would you then go about getting one?

You need the credentials, which means you must be a staff writer for a recognised publication or site or have a commission to cover the fight in question.

Sign up to a few sites and supply a few articles.

After a while, mention that you are looking to do some more work, and ask if any live fights need covering. I was writing for a website about 6 months back who offered me a few press passes

He mentioned in the Choi a few weeks back he had a couple of Press passes for the Froch fight at the weekend, probably got snapped up though.

Depends who the promoter is. If it's a small hall show you might get lucky, although most insist on some sort of press credentials. If it's one of the big ones, good luck. Might be worth your while ringing the main promoters' media offices now to introduce yourself.

I once snook into a press section and I have also worked in the press section.

I once made a credential on Photoshop in the hope that people accept it. I would post the picture on here but it's just too fuggin' cringey.

You just need to have a few contacts. Make a few emails to some managers, like for some Khan pressers I just email the dwarf a few times saying I work for this website blah blah and you get accredited.

Don't know how you can actually obtain an actual press credential, though.

Get in touch with the promoter and ask if you can write about the event. If they like your work they will give you one on the door or send you one out.
