Floyd Mayweather Jr: ”Getting ready for a fight of this magnitude, you must be ready mentally and physically. I know what it takes. It takes hard work, dedication, prayers and belief in a good team. . . . May 1st I’m going to be Floyd Mayweather and do what I do best. That is be smart, be sharp and fight hard.”

Floyd Mayweather Sr.: ”My son is quicker, more clever and (Shane) doesn’t have any defense. Bad news!”

Roger Mayweather: ”I think my nephew is the greatest thing in life just like Jack Mosley thinks is son is the greatest thing in life. On May 1st, we’re going to have to put that opinion to rest. When that time comes and all is said and done, no matter what happens, (to Jack Mosley) you still can invite me over to the house so I can have dinner with you.”

Shane Mosley: ”I’m just happy to be able to show my talents and skills. I’m going to put everything on the line . . . . This will have to be one of the greatest fights of this decade and maybe even history.

Naazim Richardson: ”You have good fighters, you have champions, you have elite fighters and then you have guys who are special. In this fight you get the rare occasion where two special fighters will face each other.

Huh. Excuse me if this fact was brought up in the 24/7s since I haven't been able to watch them, but it seems like Roger and Jack have a lot of mutual respect for each other. I know Roger doesn't trash people nearly as often as Floyd Sr or Jr.I guess they do enough for all three of them with some left over.

Mayweather and the Mosley family must be friends......It's like Mayweather and Zab - they looked like they hated each other leading up to the fight, but clearly they're boys. It reminds me of baseball players - opponents chatting and joking when on the bases. In an era where it's more about money than legacy, I think all these guys are really friends at the end of the day.

They are. I was listening to one of Mayweather's interviews and he recounted a story his dad told him. His dad was at a fight and was sitting next to Mosley. One of the fighters that night was whooping up on his opponent. Shane tapped Mayweather Sr., pointed to the winning fighter in the ring and said "that guy's on something". Sr. looked at him and said, "you would know". I'm not sure what fight they were at. I know they sat next to eachother at the Pacquiao/Cotto fight, but I'm sure there are other fights as well were they say next to eachother. Anyway, it just demonstates that these guys are friendly outside of the ring, respect eachother, and like to joke around.

they ALL know each other and have known each other for years Freddy Roach, the mayweathers, richardson, debella, dana white etc., have known each other or been around each other for years. I dont know about anywhere else but in the states most of the pro atletes have know each other since most of them were in their early teens .in boxing your talking goldens gloves, junior olympics etc. thats why you'll here Nazim says he has tapes of floyd saying the say stuff when he was an ameture, its just the obsessed fans that who do not know how to seperate the difference and assume that Freddy roach has the same haterd that they have for Floyd and are shocked when they that he uses his gym when in cali
