    August 22 Wyong Leagues Club
The Grange Old School Boxing, in conjunction with Nitro Boxing, presents a night of Championship Boxing.

Once again Australia’s premier boxing promoters, The Grange Old School Boxing and Central Coast promoters Nitro Boxing, are presenting a quality night of boxing to the Australian public by bringing their show to the Wyong Leagues Club on the Central Coast. As per usual no expense has been spared as these two premier promoters present Australia’s fastest rising star Will Kickett as he headlines this six-fight card. The show has 4 Championship bouts including a WBO Regional Title, an Australian Title and two NSW State Titles.

Will Kickett faces WBO World ranked Argentinean Martin Rodriguez (21-1) in a 10 round bout for the WBO Youth Title as well as Rodriguez’s Latino Title also being at stake. Rodriguez will be perhaps one of the strongest imports ever brought to Australia for a Foxtel night and Kickett and his trainer Craig Christian are aiming for his trip to be an unsuccessful one.

After being named Australia’s 2007 Prospect of the Year, Kickett has gone on with the job this year defeating three opponents including former IBF World Champion Gairy St Clair on the Fenech-Nelson undercard in Melbourne this June. His ascendancy shows no signs of slowing down as he faces Rodriguez in his first Regional Title bout. Talks have begun already for Kickett’s World Title shot later this year but first he must overcome Rodriguez.

One of the most popular fighters to come from the Central Coast, Steve Wills, gets his big opportunity when he challenges for the vacant Australian Lightweight Title as the feature undercard bout. Wills takes on Junmar Dulog over 10 rounds. Wills sports an undefeated record of 7 wins and 2 draws from his 9 bouts with 3 of his wins coming by way of knockout.

IBO World title Challenger ‘Deadly’ Rob Medley faces New Zealand Champion Lee Oti in a six round bout. Medley hails from the Grange Gym and expects to be challenging for the IBO World Junior Middleweight title on the next promotion in Campbelltown in October. Oti has had IBO World Middleweight Champion Daniel Geale and IBF Pan Pacific Champion Ryan Waters down in fights with them and was unlucky to only get a draw in his last outing with Australian Junior Middleweight Champion Frank LoPorto. This bout has a lot on the line for both fighters and won’t be won easily.

Bateau Bay local, Craig Parke, challenges Robert Toomey for the NSW State Junior Middleweight Title. ‘Parkey, as he is known to his legion of fans, has a record of 8-2(3) and hopes to win this bout and then fight for the Aussie belt later in the year. Toomey, with a record of 7 wins against 3 defeats, hails from the city of Dubbo and has held the State Title for nearly 12 months after winning it last year against the tough Sam Setu. This is sure to be a classic bout and the experts are divided as to who will win this one.

Brendan Batty fights Kane Buckley for the Vacant NSW State Super Featherweight Title. These two will fight all night if they were asked to, but they only get 8 rounds to decide the State Title. This fight could be staged in a telephone booth as both fighters come forward and refuse to take a backward step.

Central Coast local Stuart Edds takes on North Queensland’s debutant Rob Abbott in a four round bout at Super Featherweight.

There will also be four amateur bouts with locals Michael Perry, Jesse Codey, Robbie Harris and Queenslander Campbell Cobbo-Riley all seeing action in separate bouts.
General admission tickets are available from the club for $40.
Doors open 6pm. First bout starts at 6.30pm

    In Summary
William Kickett vs Vicente Martin Rodriguez - WBO Latino & Vacant WBO Asia-Pacific Youth Super Featherweight Titles. 10 Rounds. The winner will receive a Top 10 WBO Ranking.

Steven Wills vs Junmar Dulog - Vacant Australian Lightweight Title. 10 Rounds.

Robert Medley vs Lee Oti - Junior Middleweights. 6 Rounds.

Robert Toomey vs Craig Parke - NSW State Junior Middleweight Title. 8 Rounds.

Brendan Batty vs Kane Buckley - Vacant NSW State Super Featherweight Title. 8 Rounds.

Stewart Edds vs Robert Abbott - Super Featherweights. 4 Rounds.

Interesting to see how good he is...but at 1st glance without a doubt 1 of the best FOX FNF card imports in recent years. WBO#11 ranked & all.

His WBO rating doesn't mean a great deal to me to be honest. Nick "The Terror" Tetoros was well inside the top 10 of the WBO not so long ago. I don't think he'll be better than Rob Calloway, and there's been a stack of stronger imports over the years. All that being said, it's a good fight for Willie at this point in his career. I don't doubt that at all.

    Probably.

Given the uncertainty over who Willy was actually fighting, I'd say this kid was definately the last resort.

I know Bobby Pac was sounded out and some one said an American kid was coming out...I'm not expecting the Argy to be in tip top shape.

No....he was scheduled to defend his WBO Latino title a week earlier in South America but the fight got canned.

He has been training for over a month.
