Entering the bout Ratchasak KKP was 29-3-1 (14) and Jestoni Autida was 8-3 (3). Ratchasak was best known for his bout with Rex Tso in Macau, where he dropped Rex twice. Autida was a complete unknown going into this bout! [YT]_GP7-AqJCl8[/YT]
Thanks for the share. Always like to see the little guys bang a bit, although I've seen 4 year olds throw with more heat than these guys.
I follow the Thai fighters as much as possible. This type of result has happened many times before. The hometown fighters feast on the Indonesians and Filipino boxers and now and then get knocked off. Ratchsak had not beaten anyone of note and used to fight at a higher weight. I did not thing he was going to get very far on the world stage. It has been a while since a good 115 pounder has emerged from Thailand despite Sirisket who I like a lot. Hope some more Thais keep getting exposure to the rest of the world.
On the other hand Autida was supposed to be another of those Filipino fighters to feast upon (which he shouldn't have been given his performance against Petch) also this fight was at a higher weight (WBA Asia Bantamweight title fight). As for Srisaket, that guy is freakin' awesome, my fave Thai at the moment.
Thats not a shock that happens quite a few times a shock would be a foreign fighter getting the decision over a thai in Thailand for a world title, now that would be a shock.
It's a shock, it happens 3 or 4 times a year and the last one was between unbeatens, with the winner of that being previously tipped as a potential star by those who had seen him, not a complete unknown like Autida.
Yawn:dead Wake me up when some foreign fighter gets a decision for a world title in Thailand against a Thai fighter.
The foreign fighter would have to legitimately defeat a Thai fighter by decision, and that hasn't happened in a little while in title fights staged in Thailand.
