Why would Floyd abandon his regular fighting style that he's perfected? It makes no sense to try to be someone you're not. Floyd isn't the kind to walk someone down. He uses his intelligence, speed, and skill.

You have no reason to believe he'd try something new at this point, other then what you HOPE.

Like Charles Oakley said....If it ain't broken, don't break it. :hey

to go 12 rds, get his timing and rhythm back, not risk getting hit while rusty.

floyd jr is no longer a combination puncher as evidence in his fight against the defensively inept hatton. marquez is a far superior counter-puncher than hatton, floyd will not risk creating openings during a tune-up.

Floyd is comfortable at 147 even though most welter weights comes in close to 160. Marquez is slightly smaller than mayweather. It would be a good move for JMM to push as low as possible making Floyd's camp on losing weight especially after 19 months laid off.

reguardless of the fact that floyd has every physical advantage over juan its simply not his style to stalk all nite. i'm sure money will give us the complete package and end up finishing juan but by no means will he in a seek & destroy mode ala pavlik.

floyd can make it an easier night for himself taking less risks & doing what he does best.

I thought the same with Judah and Floyd walked him down, now Judah isnt JMM but he does have skill. IMO standing in the middle of the ring boxing JMM gives JMM more of a chance. The only thing JMM has going for him in this fight is his skill, i dont think he can outbox Floyd but why try and find out? Diaz put the pressure on JMM and found him alot, it wouldnt be a bad idea for floyd to try this. Especially given that he has faster hands and is the bigger man. Get JMM outta there as soon as he can.

Not exactly seek and destroy, im talking about something similar to what he did to judah. Steady pressure.

I agree, but Gayweather probably wants to fight JMM because he is the current #2 in the pound for pound list.

As one that would be rooting himself hoarse for JMM, Id love for the scenario you depict to unfold and have Mayweather bring the pressure to JMM......

......remember now, the fighter supplying the pressure becomes more suceptible to getting hit clean with a counter.
......that would play right to JMM's hands.....My feeling is that Mayweather would begin the fight boxing and try to get the upper hand from there.....

....the fighter getting outboxed is likely to start to take some chances and come foward with some pressure.

.....if Mayweather is getting outboxed in the early going, then yeah, he's likely to start to come foward with some real pressure and try to work himself in to the inside to use his physical strenghth.
