It's a good point, and I completely agree. For example, Chavez was, obviously, a better fighter than Casamayor, and Meldrick Taylor (amongst others) outboxed and outclassed him.

But I'm not really saying 'Casa is too good to be outboxed'. What I'm actually saying is that Casa's too well versed technically, too naturally gifted, too seasoned and accomplished a fighter to be schooled or outboxed by anyone for a significant period of time (the odd round here and there, sure).

His style just isnt susceptible to that kind of scenario. (Unless he was shot).

He could be brutalized, he could be beat up. He could be hurt badly and knocked the **** out, but no one is going to school him. Not going to happen.

Opposing TV contracts (HBO & Showtime) I think that rivalry between tv stations has robbed fans of some good fights...You really cant blame either fighter for this fight not happening...Showtime nor HBO doesnt like doing business with each other so the blame should be placed on that not on Mayweather as your post is trying to imply.:-(

Floyd didn't stick around at lightweight for very long. His record there wasn't great. And the truth is, Casa isn't the most marketable fighter. Plus Floyd could have had misgivings about fighting someone as awkard stylistically as Casamayor.

Oh yeah, I just got the HBO/Showtime issues. Sorry, I'm not from the US so that went over my head a little bit.

    Was up El Cepillo

I think the Zab fight is the worng fight to go off. That was a Welterweight contest where Floyd first showed loss of speed in his fourth weight div. and the big 7 pound jump. I'm not sure Casa has the handspeed, reflexes or power of ZAB. I think the Corley fight is a better fight to look at as far as styles. Zab is a worst style match up for PBF then Casa.

As far as Floyd having problems for the first 6 rounds...:nono After the fifth round i had it 2-3 rounds for Judah. PBF took over from there. PBF realized that his handspeed was not what Judah's was at 147. So he employs a high guard, times his shots and walks Judah down to almost stopping him before the melay. The adjustment he made was great, The 3rd type of defense i have seen Floyd use. Movement against Corrales(Casa style) Master of the shoulder roll(Toney style) an the High Guard(Winky style)

You spoke of Floyd's Chin being tested like never before. But at 135 casa doesn't hit as hard as JLC and he tagged Floyd clean and gave Floyd a very tough fight.

Floyd is too versatile for me to pretend to know what he would do in the ring. He could do like the Corrales fight and bounce all around the ring on Casa ala Frietas, except floyd don't gas . I see the Kid diamond fight and i really don't see how Casa could handle Floyd and beat him. Casa had a problem with Kid D's Straight right hand. Floyd's right would be the best one he has ever seen, with a reach he would not like.

Good point. I can only remember them doing it one time, when Lewis and Tyson fought. Even then they robbed us cause they waited till Tyson was no longer in his prime.

Floyd would beat Casa on points. I believe it would be a UD, but a close fight..

No, the winner actually earned a multi-million dollar contract from HBO. Both were promoted by Arum. This is when their relationship actually began getting sour. Arum wanted Corrales to KO Floyd, so he could drop him from his promotional company.

And people wonder why Floyd hates fighting Arum promoted fighters...

casa would give him hell, but mayweather would take this fight 90% of the time. just too much raw physical talent.
