Tjheir STYLES and how they mesh has been discussed ad naseum. My guess is some posters just don't like what's said.

    Floyd didn't struggle against DLH
    I had it 8-4

I thought that a past his prime Whitaker beat DLH when they met

Mosley and Mayorga are totally different fighters whereas PBF and Pea are both regarded as defensive masters, so we can judge in the DLH case.

Im very unbiased and i picked Whitaker at lightweight and Mayweather at welterweight. I just don't think we should jump to conclusions because one fighter looked better than another fighter against a fighter. Oscar also has more trouble with southpaws than Mayweather.

WHo's basing on that ONE comment opponent? Sweet Pea gave a very good explanation, based on their styles.

It didn't turn into Floyd fight a few round later IMHO. At least, I was not used to seeing Floyd bothered like that in a while. The fight was about even after 6 rounds. He picked it up moreso after abut 6. Maybe he was playing it safe, but he sure didn't figure Hatton out only after two rounds.

I'd probably lean towards Whitaker, something like 7-5.

6-6 draw across the board w/ both fighters bitchin that they won.

or a majority draw 1 fight taking a card while the defining card is even.

I just don't see Whitaker doing enough to beat Mayweather. PBF never came close to losing a pro fight and in the amateurs he lost like 4 or 6 fights all l's coming by 2 or less points
Guy never been knocked down - don't count that bull**** hernandez knockdown, because that ref said he regrets calling it one.

Floyd doesn't know how to lose --

I think you guys are underestimating Floyd

What a shame that there isn't a boxer like Whitaker or a Wilfred Benitez around for Mayweather to fight right now.

What a shame in 2 or 3 fights, Floyd can ride off into the sunset undefeated.

    DLH
    Cotto or Margarito
    ?

He CAN ride off into the sunset, but i'm not so sure he'll actually do it. Fighters always talk about retiring, and then they turn around and say one more fight. De la hoya has been saying it's almost time to go for like what, 6 years now?
Mayweather of course is a pretty unique individual, but deep down, he's just a fighter like they all are.
