1. Pea was shot thats why Tito hit him as much, Tito would hardly lay a glove on Prime Whitaker. 2. Nicley coverd Reg, I said hurt though. :good
Whitaker was shot, and had abused his body with drugs when the Tito fight took place. Using that as a comparison point to make Mayweather look better for this matchup isn't a good idea.
Please do watch some fights on Youtube. His bodywork was perpetual and the accuracy was amazing. He was incredibly disciplined with his body work.
Yeah but Tszyu never hit Hatton with anything much did he? Tito hit Pernell frequently with hard shots and he took them despite being far past his best.
Fine, I'll edit my statement. You greatly increase your chances of going down/getting hurt. A good amount of the time, a fighter is hurt when he's put on the canvas.
I wasn't using it as a comparison. I was responding to a poster who said that if Tito couldn't hurt Pea, then Floyd couldn't(he ignored the fact that Pea had his jaw broke in that fight, I'm pretty sure that hurt him)
Reg there is very little chance of anybody seriously hurting Prime Whitaker. In the same way there is very little chance of anybody hurting prime Mayweather. Neither fighter would be hurt in this fight, do you think they would be?
With his great southpaw jab, investing to the body with discipline, and by diminishing the power Mayweather's by stepping off at angles.
When did I ever say that him stepping into the ring with Tito at that point in his career was a good thing? Of course it wasn't a good idea, however seeing as he DID do it, we can't really use that fight to make Mayweather look good, because we know just how far past his prime he was. It would be both silly and biased, much like how Rooster brings up Terry Norris and Camacho when bashing Leonard. I'd like to think that we're all better than that, and that we can have a fair debate.
I'm not saying either one would be hurt. My original point was that power was not the only determining factor in one fighter's ability to hurt another fighter. Ergo, just because Tito couldn't hurt Pea, according to you, doesn't mean Floyd couldn't.
