You guys love ggg so much on here. Loma just had his six or seventh? Pro fight winning his second title in his second division.

Yet ggg insists on staying in the same weight class, despite lack of high quality opposition. PBL has come on the scene and done more in a mere 3yrs, whats that all about?

Pretty Boy Lomachenko has around 5 years left of athletic prime. In those five years he's going to have a great run. This isn't the Golovkin era, this is the Lomachenko era.

That's because he wants absolutely nothing to do with big bad ward . Lomachenko would have fought Ward already if he was a 160 pounder and he hasn't even had 10 fights .

This is the thing, there's no expectations in a fighter to move up, it should be rewarded when they do, not criticised when they don't.

Golovkin wants to unify and be the greatest MW ever.

Loma wants to be the greatest ever full stop.

He quickly became number 1 FW by virtue of Salido leaving. There's now some huge fights to be made at SFW now. Loma v Salido, winner vs Vargas.

LW is going to be down to the winner of Zlaticanin and Linares so if Loma manages to beat Salido, Vargas and Zlaticanin in his next 3 fights he's gonna go down in some serious history books.

I think Loma, Crawford, Ward and Gonzalez are the current p4p stars.

I read an article a few days ago where Arum was telling the media that he's told Loma that more than likely he can't turn him into a PPV star but he can still get him big fights to help boost his legacy.I was surprised to read how honest Arum sounded in that interview. If he thought Loma could be a PPV superstar, he'd probably be matching him up a bit more cautiously.

As far as GGG, I don't think Gennady is afraid of anyone, including Ward. I think he can only fight whoever his management puts in front of him and it doesn't help matters that few fighters actually want to fight the guy voluntarily.

Still at this juncture Loma has the better resume and has already crossed through a couple divisions. It's so refreshing to see guys like him and Rigo take on all comers from such early periods in their pro careers.

Loma can go for a 135lb belt if he wants but I'd prefer his legacy to be mostly in the featherweight divisions as that's his actual weight.
I imagined him to only go up to 135lbs towards the end of his career, and then win a belt against a non-stylistic threat at 140lbs, then retire.

Felix Verdejo would be making a mistake if he's considering moving down to 130. He should be at 135-140. The problem with Verdejo is that he doesn't seem to have inside-game. He made his name in the amateurs being good at range. People have been on the Verdejo train but I still need to see that addressed. His defense doesn't go far beyond resetting by retreating outside of punching range and having a high guard.

The problem with that is that the SFW division isn't historically prestigious.

He might need to try LW if he wants to go down in history.

It doesn't matter if it's not historically prestigious. It's a new era. It's as prestigious as the opponents you beat.
In recent years we've seen Mayweather, Pacquiao, Marquez, Morales, Barrera, Corrales, Casamayor, Mitchell, Freitas mix it up there.

Super featherweights are modern day lightweights anyway.

Just look at the list of names you mention. How many of those had a career at SFW?

Alexis Arguello, too. It doesn't matter if they had a whole career at 130, it's about who they beat, and again, SFW's today are at least lightweights of old in terms of weight.

It's weird isn't it that sfw is such a stepping stone division. I always thought bantam-feather was the hardest gap to bridge in the old days, but feather to light is no ****ing joke. Just check out Pep's record up there...so i've never really been able to understand why sfw sees so little in the way of great fighters moving up and living there. But it's true.

  14. Why draw a parallel with only GGG. Why not compare what he is doing with every fighter and question why they also haven't won a title In their second fight

Salido, Vargas, Corrales, Muira, Gamboa. Whilst those are solid names they aren't ATG resume builders are they?

Uchiyama was number 1 for 6 years remember.

LW has some money fights with Linares, Zlaticanin, Crolla, Flanagan.

LWW has Crawford and Postol, maybe Mikey Garcia by that point.

I kinda expect him to rise through the divisions tbh.

Maybe even back down to Feather for fights with Selby, Russel and Rigo.
