..just a good scrap.. Cruz threw 1580 punches, just freakin' unreal. I thought Cruz won a close fight, just wish that Teddy woulda ate his crow and admitted his card was bull****. ESPN is sucker for these Africans with hardluck stories, they ALWAYS pull for them.. it's stupid. They talked up Mashaba for the first 6rds or so that he had no choice but to score them for Mashaba, when in fact Cruz was winning some of those rounds. Teddy Atlas proves yet again why he is the worst announcer out there.
Nah man. I though Thomas won fair and square. He landed the harder punches and was more consistent. The last two rounds didn't change **** for me. Cruz's punch output was amazing but there was nothing on these punches. I had it 7-5.
Totally forgot about this. All things considered, I do not regret going out for Mexican tonight, as intriguing as this fight sounds to have been. I may have regrets in the morning.
My hats off to both of them for their conditioning and ability to absorb punishment, but you knew after two minutes it was going to a decision of some sort. No power to keep each other honest. The only worthwhile thought I had was that the winner is the type of guy either Vasquez or Marquez deserves for their debut at 126. Someone busy and hittable.
"I thought Cruz won a close fight, just wish that Teddy woulda ate his crow and admitted his card was bull****." I too thought Cruz won a close decision. Problem with Teddy, is once he starts his path of babble, he can not alter its direction. For some reason he sets himself up above the judges, and if he doesn't agree with them, then its those 3 guys that are wrong. Bottom line, Cruz landed over 120 + more punches, and never quit trying. I applaud both guys for giving us an entertaining fight.
