your right there mate :good seen him fight a few times and will see him in a few weeks on the jld/dolan bill. very good boxer great skills and has a massive height and reach advantage over his opponents, if he can develop his power he will be a definite threat, doesnt look like he broken sweat in the fights i have seen him, be very interested to see how he steps up
Good ?, there may be a plan in the making to fix that problem, as its unfair that good fighters without chance of tv can remain obscure, especialy if they look capable of sinking a plastic tv prospect, it makes them much easier to ignore.:think
It's not good! I love nothing better than watching domestic boxing, infact more than most fights but other than big world title fights with a British fighter involved. Friday Fight Night needs a replacement but Sky dont want it...:-( Only hope is Hearn's stable grows and these guys can be on undercards?
There are a lot of prospects, and among them will be some real good ones, a lot buy wins with ticket sales, some can really fight, hopefully before to long a method to let the intrested public see who the real ones are will come about, be a bit terrifying for the buy a win red corner specialist this news.
Another vote for Shafiq Asif from me. Saw him box on the Steve Wraith show in September and was really impressed. He looked really comfortable and picked his shots well.
I wonder the same thing mate, it's a shocker of a nickname really . Agreed Fanta he rips shots into body well as well. As you say i hope he can develop power but he's a good fundamental boxer who seems comfortable in own skin and could well emerge in near future for titles. :good He does pick shots well noticed that on youtube vid i found of him. Broke Fearn down really, Fearn was a very capable and tough debut as well TBH. Asif has a lot going for him, could well take over from Truscott as the man in those parts.
Like the look of Peter cope (has load of fans) very tall and rangey and throws excellent combinations, would like to see him move up in weight as he look drained last fight and if he can start to sit down on his punches he could make an impact at British level
Aye, a lot of the ones being suggested on here are from our neck of the woods - would be great if one of them could be a future British star :good
Defo mate! Think Glenn foot has a great chance and I still have confidence in travis getting a title at British just needs to be more active. The crop of young fighters is best we've had in a while, looking forward to rainton meadows bill lOoks a good show. A good amateur from my town has just signed pro with spencer fearon his name is Lewis Scott and he debuts in match very excited bout his potential will be a big ticket seller as well
Good stuff, will claim that as a geordie rather than a mackem . The thing is, it's strange with boxing, i'm a big newcastle utd fan, but would much rather a sunderland lad did well for himself than someone down the country, if you know what i mean. i was chuffed for foot the other week like. (helped i had a tenner on him at 4/1) :rofl
