    Thanks for sharing this.

I recently watched this and scored it with a buddy.
    Draw
    D 2, 3, 5, 6, 8, 12
    W 1, 4, 7, 9, 10, 11

Fun fight to watch. I could have scored it for Whitaker but the knocked down wasn't really one so I scored it 10-9. If I score it 10-8 Whitaker.

Whoever won to me doesn't matter because watching Whitaker play with a Hall of Fame fighter is the point.

Oscar is deadly serious the entire and Pernell is absolutely not. He played, jested, laughed like he was sparring a nephew or little cousin. Before the final bell he slips a few punches, makes a funny face that suggested something like “wow, you really wanted to hit me there...it’s a good thing that I am awesome...” as he runs backwards to the ropes..

Seriously, Whitaker didn’t outbox DLH as outfight him and he only did it when he felt like it.

It is a great fight to watch when you want to consider just how great Pernell was. He totally played and at times embarrassed a Hall Of Famer.

I had Oscar winning by 3 points. He was the boss in most of the rounds.

More impressive was Micky Ward sleepwalking thru 6 plus rounds against Alfonso Sanchez before waxing him with one liver shot.

just out of curiosity did you score round 3 10-8 for De La Hoya like the judges (TBF one scored it 9/9 because they gave that rd to Pea) due to the headbutt? If not that could change your score as well.

Yeah the clowning is probably why he lost. Shame really. If he had taken that match seriously I really think he could have taken it

Normally when I score I turn the sound off so I didn’t hear anything about a point loss. I had to watch the round again to answer your question.

I thought it was a close round but slightly for Oscar. I listened at the end and heard Marchant talk about the WBC rule...I would have ignored it if I was listening

I guess that is your right....but a judge does not get that luxury...personally I think the rule is stupid but I also believe in playing/scoring by the rules.

I hear ya about mute! I did a thread a while back on fights with live sound and no commentary and they are by far my favorite.

I’d hate be a judge. I feel much more free to score fights without worry.

I will tell you something that bugs me. I scored the Mayweather - Pacquiao fight for Pacquiao. I think he outboxed Mayweather and did more work than Mayweather. I know that makes me sound ridiculous...When I watched it live it looked like a pretty clear when for Mayweather.

When I watched it recently to seriously score it, fully expecting to score it for Mayweather...I found myself scoring round after round for Pac.

I usually worry about my scores and perhaps give a round to the other guy when I feel like it is getting too lopsided. Now, I just let go and score what I see. Turning the sound off helps tremendously.

Commentary sways me and also distracts me. When I turn the sound off, I can “see” the fighters...see what’s trending..who has the momentum and a lot of time I score the momentum when the round is not clear which is usually with two great fighters.

Finally, how about this one. I love Pacquiao but I think I scored every fight for Marquez.

    Thanks for the link.
