As a fellow Brit I would fully support him if he took the fight. But I just don't see it ending well. No point having power of you are afraid to let your hands go. I think he should go back to domestic level. Not in a horrible way but when's the last time he was in a big fight with build up and had his hand raised. Whyte or Chisora will tell us if he is ready for a title shot. He has more talent than the two but question marks over his intangibles will be answered and they won't just fall over if he hits them. Make a statement then get the title shot.
TKO twice by old man (faded too) version of Thompson. KO at the hands of Teper. Put the pipe down sweetheart.
Price is a decent choice for first defence for such a young guy as Parker. I don't have a problem with this fight happening, Joseph would be facing big, chinny puncher in Price. And the thing is you can't completely write David off here, he will always be that one big punch from scoring a sensation. I doubt this will happen, but this will fun as it lasts. It will sell good and might help building Parker's position in the UK.
Frank has WBO in his pocket, and if he says Hughie is next then believe it Price is miles better than Dimitrenko
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/boxing/2...sin-hughie-fury-set-challenge-joe-parker-wbo/ Maybe Hughie isn't mandatory, who knows but Hughie beats JP in my eyes Hughie would clean sweep Takam and Ruiz
Price will get blown out of course, but heck I would love to see this fight. Price can bang, but is mentally very weak. If this fight happens I think he has a 2% chance of an upset, but his nerves will get the better of him.
Price has near zero chance of a win here, lets be honest Even if Price catches Joe he doesn't have the finishing ability to take him out, Joe is a heavyweight Baby but he's tough, just as tough as Tony Thompson
Hughie is one of the guys Team Parker are considering as a voluntary defense. He hasn't fought anyone great and looks good but hasn't been spectacular, it's hard to know how he'd go against a live opponent. I suspect he has the potential for a highlight reel KO loss to raise Parker's stock some - but then he could win too, but for Team Parker to be considering him they obviously have some confidence in what they've seen.
This. Hughie is such a hard fighter to rate. Many in the industry rave about him, but with my relatively untrained eye, I struggle to see what he does amazingly well. He just seems ok at most things but not great in any department, apart from his chin seems pretty solid to me...
Parker needs to get these opponent selections right. Price is good choice if the fight is in NZ or the US. Don't think he should fight him in Price's backyard though. Same deal with Hughie. The guy I really don't like as an opponent choice for Parker is Big Baby. Hits like a mule & is plenty strong.
I'd prefer Miller over Price Honestly. Miller has some skills and his chin looks to be one piece, but if it happens in UK, go get that Easy money!
