Price or fury whos glass jaw is worse?

Discussion in 'British Boxing Forum' started by Phill-Mitchell, Oct 19, 2012.

  1. Obviously both are dreadful KO's waiting to happen, Price having been wobbled rocked and stopped time and time again in the first amateurs, fury having been badly rocked in recent fights and dropped like a sack of **** by a featherfisted Canadian bum.

It's so hard to pick, both are the finest bone china, but I have to go with fury in the end

Also, both will be brutally ktfo as soon as they step up

Price's chin hasn't really been tested as a pro. I remember him getting hit clean in his first fight when a gumshield came out and Price turned away but he was against a pretty poor opponent. He also got tagged against McDermott but that punch was an off balance one, so maybe it's not much of a reflection.

I'm not sure about his chin, honestly. Everything from the amateurs doesn't suggest it'll hold up as a pro but then you have examples like Tua and Holmes, who both had dodgy chins as amateurs and yet took a good shot as pros. I think it's unlikely that he'll have a 'good' chin but it doesn't need to be good for him to dominate. Wlad has a poor chin and yet he's never getting hit so what does it matter? He could have Khan's punch resistance and he'd still be able to beat guys like Mormeck because they literally don't land a single punch.

Fury will fail at a higher level because he's not a good enough fighter. He doesn't hit hard enough and he's too awkward. Price will only fail if his chin lets him down. If he can take a good shot, he'll be the best heavyweight in the next decade.

Hope youre right about Price Jack,as he comes across as a good allrounder and a decent lad.I know hes a heavy but feel time could run out for him.On the other hand,Fury is a young man with time to learn who,i feel is in front of David in terms of opposition.Dont know if either has a glass jaw.Firtha,I feel,is a decent fighter with a bit of power.Theyre both gonna be interesting in the coming year or three, but weve seen heavies come out of nowhere in the past from the US.Also in Europe Pulev looks a good fighter.

from what i've seen, it's Price

I know it was in the amateurs, but unlike Tua, Price was a fully grown man when he was getting knocked out with the headgear, and as Khan has recently proved, you can only "hide" a bad chin, not improve it.

I think Fury is one of them guys where he will always get up if u knock him down, his chin is dodgy but he will be hard to stop, Price I can see gettin put to sleep one day

Fury has been on his arse once, got straight up and shrugged it off, he was guilty of poor foot positioning, not a glass jaw, that punch would have put 90% of HW's on their hole.

I think the number of counts they have received in their combined amateur & pro careers is as follows:

    Price: 15

    Fury: 1

So on that basis, you would have to say it is Price who has the worse chin :good

In the professionals Price has never been down or even wobbled.

Why do all these silly ****s bring up the ams:rofl

Fury has been down once and rocked numerous times as professional.

We are talking about the professional ranks:hi:

Price will achieve much more than Fury, because Price knows how to protect his whiskers, whilst I suspect Fury will end his career with multiple defeats via KO- because he gets hit too often

    Exactly, in the PROFESSIONAL ranks:hi:

Fury has already been decked and put on ***** street by an over weight Latvian taxi driver.

Price has not even been hit flush yet:deal

As destruction has said Price hasn't been troubled as a pro yet. Your logic is flawed until this happens or we have some kind of frame of reference to him being hurt as a professional.

I've seen Price sparked, But Fury's KD's for me are him being square on and no defence. I haven't seen him badly on ***** steet, he seems to get up and crack on well so i'd question Price's chin a little more but he's a better athelte now so maybe he'd hold a shot better then he did in AM's.

Still think Price is going to have some bother down the line, from seeing the KO's in the amateurs, even more than his chin, it's how he reacts to getting hit, he completely falls apart

considering the fact that he hasn't been hit in years, we can only speculate what will happen when someone does get through (and they always do, in the end)

i'm more confident with Fury because we have seen how he responds to getting hit, he fights fire with fire and gets the opponent out of there.
