Price v Hammer Feb 4th

Also this will show us how well/badly coldwell has done with price

 

Fair enough, I won't complain, it's a step forward.

The pressure on Price will be huge, one more slip up and it's GAME OVER.

Haha, I'm fair, well I always try to be, come on even you have admit his last two opponents combined with talk of a world title shot against Joshua was ridiculous.

Looking at this opponent I think they realise they have to step it up if they are serious about fighting for titles and this is a step up and nobody can really knock a step up.

We will see how he gets on and how he looks and then we will all make a judgement and if he wins I will expect him to step it up again.

 

If Price wins I can see a certain group claiming Hammer was an easy mark and hand picked and I think it's unfair.

Hammer is very much above journeyman standard, I put him at low level gate keeper status.

He is certainly tough enough and hits hard enough to keep contenders honest, but doesn't beat legit contenders and is obviously well beaten by the elite like Tyson Fury.

I think Hammer wins tbh, but I will cheer for the Liverpool plumber (and I think of the Liverpool plumber as an affectionate name not derogatory). He seems like a guy that would suit being a plumber.

 

This is the right sort of fight for Price. Hammer is okay, but not good - that's exactly what he needs to be going for at the moment.

Price should win but the longer it goes on the more I'd favor Hammer.

 

Bookies got Price as the 4/11 favourite, probably largely due to the size advantage. This really is a last chance for Price, I really hope he get the win and atleast make some good on his early career promise when he turned out to be one of the biggest hype jobs the UK has ever had.

 

Hammer win and Haye in 6. Just over 5/1 on betfair, got to be worth a few quid.

 

I've only Hammer V Fury and he didn't lay a glove on Tyson but i still think Price is vulnerable and if Hammer can start putting his punches together Price is for a long night - haven't seen any signs of improvement -yet

 

Seen pricey in the gym last Sunday, he was looking very sharp and looks like he's put a lot of muscle on I think he will weigh in about 19 and a half stone

 

agreed. He still goes backwards in straight lines. If you can close the gap on his he's there to be hit. IN the fight at Goodison he got put against the ropes and took some decent digs- against better opposition that could be curtains.

 

Good to see this from price stepping up.

A win sees him getting back in the mix...a defeat leaves him pretty much finished. Hopefully he gets the win.

Although i ve criticised his failure to step up...think he could have maybe done with one more fight before this one. Lets be honest the last two opponents have been a waste of time. Hammer did beat teper afterall.

Would probably like to see him coming in with the intention of bombing hammer out tbh. They tried to make him a boxer...but its not really worked out for him. Forget about concentrating on his flaws...just concentrate on his strengths at this stage of the game.

 

It's a good fight on paper.
Hopefully both guys will come to the fight in decent shape and trying to win, but you never know with heavyweights.
