Price's standard of opposition to date has been quite frankly APPALLING to be honest. I've just had a look on Boxrec and over half of them have EPIC losing records like - Raman Sukhaterin 6-15-0 [Price beat him in the 7th round] that was 18 months ago. - Daniil Peretyatko 16-27-0 [Price won on points] exactly 2 years ago. - Yavor Marinchev 5-15-0 [Price won on points] 3 years ago. I could go on ... The only thing close to a competitive match up was a against John McDermott who came in at a career heaviest 20 stone and on a FOUR match losing streak atsch That's it. I'm not sure quite how Price has acquired his reputation. Sexton has come to fight. He is at a CAREER lowest weight, is a former Commonwealth Champ who has never been on the canvas. His only loss to date has been against Chisora. I think people are GROSSLY overestimating Price's achievements against old, overweight Latvian Cab drivers & underestimating Sexton's ability. IF Price takes him out in the first couple of rounds he will rightly get recognition. I simply don't think he will. PLUS there is no smoke without fire, Price has a reputation for a glass jaw for a good reason. He hit the deck in the amateurs MULTIPLE times and Frank Maloney has even confessed this week to fretting about Sexton flooring Price and ending his Sky deal. Should be a good fight :bbb
Price is Godly....he's knocked down at least two Eastern Europeans without actually hitting them. Wind of ball has nothing on Prices supersonic right hand, you see it but you never hear the one that stops you.
I'm looking forward to it. Folk are quite rightly pointing out that Price hasn't exactly been facing stiff opposition (more like 'stiffs' ). Dallas got bullied and stopped by Skelton and didn't look as though he wanted to even be in a Boxing ring, plus he took the fight with Price at short notice IIRC. Then Big John came in terribly out of shape. That said, I think Price did go about those victories properly and showed he has decent power, enough I suspect to put Sexton away if he can land cleanly. I expect with Sexton's mobility and timing we'll get to see him land some leather on this questionable chin of Price's as the big fella comes at him so questions will be answered either way. Price KO 6 for me
i like sexton,a good boxer, half decent power and a ok chin, think price finishes him early though,i don't think price is world class, but better than most of our heavys at the mo
All depends what Sexton turns up, it could get interesting if Sexton manages to hit him. Has Price ever been hit as a pro? I do expect Price to get to him inside 6 but I wouldn't be shocked if Sexton causes him a few problems.
I've got Pricey to win in the... 1st @ 14/1 2nd @ 12/1 4th @ 10/1 6th @ 10/1 7th @ 12/1 4th or 7th this is ending in. Either another quick knockout or a prolonged beating, is what our Sam is receiving tonight! ;-)
