Im not buying the PPV, my boycott of all things David Price continues. But I actually think Price could stop Allen early, Allen starts at a snails pace, Price starts fast, Allen gets hit with ease and Price for all his faults (and there are many) can actually punch. I want Allen to win so Price is never seen on Sky again.
Allen has an iron chin and I’m not even convinced Price still has the power he once did. Allen will take shots early like he always does and then Price will gas like he always does. Allen KO.
Don't disagree with any of that , I just think its a 50/50 fight in which case the 2/1 you can get on Price is the value bet , if you see it as a 50/50 that is.
Im going with allen. Allen will have benefited vastly with teaming up with barker and I think that will show in this fight.
All the evidence I needed was seeing Price look bad against Ali. Ali isn’t nearly as polished as Allen. Allen at least throws coordinated punches and has head movement. Ali is sloppy.
See I thought that, but I thought Browne was landing plenty on him and he didn't look any good against the Argentine either. He does this weird thing Allen where almost all of his head movement is performed out of range. If Price boxes boring I think he can take a decision
Those backing Allen to win seem to be basing it on his ability to take a shot combined with Price’s tendency to blow out of his backside after 4 rounds. This might happen...but I don’t hear anyone talking about Allen’s footwork, his lateral movement, head movement and jab, all things that he will need to move in on the inside without getting chinned. He’s certainly no Povetkin, he doesn’t have them attributes.
I think pre shot, KO prone Price would best Allen. Not this version. Allen seems to be in top shape and hasn’t been stopped early. He went the distance with Whyte and it took Yoka 10 rounds to stop him. Price isn’t gonna keep Allen off him for 12 rounds. He will gas and tire. He has one of the worst jabs I can recall for a big man. Allen is on a roll and knows what a win will do for him here.
If Price from the Povetkin fight shoes up he wins early. If the average price shows up Allen stops him It's not going past 7 rounds either way
Well this is the thing. Even so, there is a feeling that Price will just collapse and it's a difficult one to ignore. Plus, Ortiz did still stop Allen. So did Yoka. He doesn't have be to out to be stopped. But then Price has never stopped anyone worth a damn. I just can't decide and it's driving me insane. Oh Twentyman, hold me.
He is but you can brace for Browne's shots easily enough now he's even slower. And Allen himself doesn't exactly have a great tank. And this is the thing, the points you raise aren't wrong. I just can't decide which points will prove to be more right between both of ours
