It’s crazy how one sided this vote is. Price is gun shy and gases bad as you all say, but even so, he hurts every single man he gets in with. He was about to ko Ali, Povetkin was gone if it wasn’t for Foster, Little was done he even had Thompson and Hammer down in fights he lost. Allen will not be anywhere near as smart as them after the kds if Price has him hurt he’ll finish him. Allen blocks shots with his face and thinks it’s funny, how long is he going to get away with that before he gets laid out? Browne is something else in terms of lack of speed and he was outboxing and landing heavy shots. This could be a close fight but only if Allen survives a few. That’s a big if because Price is far better boxer and even when he’s BEGINNING to run out of steam, he still has the agility to naturally throw a quick bomb without thinking. We witnessed with the shot he hurt Ali with on the turn which got him going.
Price early or Allen late i suspect, i lean towards the latter as i think Allen is capable of taking Price's big shots early on may stop a tiring Price sometime after round 6.
There’s the narrative held by many respective posters where Kash was on the verge of getting Price out of there...yet it was Kash who was wobbled and was on verge of getting stopped before he held on for dear life before pulling Price to the floor. Price was gonna stop him there and then. I agree he was blowing badly but he still had way too much for him. He was biting him throughout...he was well out of his depth. Anyway, I agree with your post, Johnny.
He was gassing bad but the fact is one punch changed that and Ali was about to lose. Everyone always says one punch can change everything in boxing but it doesn’t suit people’s agenda against the “big, stiff plumber” haha. I agree with you, Ali wanted a way out. This is a close one to call but it’s the same story with Price, it’s all his own doing why this is even a contest.
A Price win via KO would be absolutely fantastic, hilarious and probably the best outcome for British boxing.
Makes me laugh all the people on this forum thinking Pricey has a chance.... let me just look at the profile from Liverpool shock! 'Ye big David still has it laaaa' erm have you watched any of his recent fights? Hammer? Kuzmin? Povetkin? My God he was even gassing against kash Ali! The man does not have the mental strength to he a boxer anymore, that is cold hard facts, he is stealing a living, he was even trying to flog the gamble tweets on Twitter the other week. As soon as he gasses as his confidence is shot to pieces it will end in tears like it always does for big Davey, lovely bloke could not box eggs nowadays
I agree completely. I find it bizarre, how anybody still believes in Price. I don’t give a monkeys what anybody says, Price was ready to go against Ali. Yes, he could have still laid one on Kash, but he was blowing out of his arse as per usual and his hands were down at his waist. To me, he is not even that dangerous in the first 3 anymore, as he doesn’t have the confidence to throw punches with serious intent. Price is getting stopped - no doubt about it.
Only mings say laaa. His mental issues are the only thing that’s ruined his career in my opinion. If he didn’t have those demons I don’t think the gassing would be nearly as much of an issue and neither would his reluctance to throw leading to tightness, leading to gassing. Viscous circle with him. Regardless of any of this he has more than enough to beat Allen. Allen is shite let’s be honest. Price is well schooled, hits well harder is bigger, quicker. So even if he gassed that is well enough to get someone as limited and as cruiser sized as Allen out before he gets tired. I agree it’s a close fight but only because of the stamina issues. What I’m saying is, I’m shocked that the vast majority are so certain he’ll survive long enough to get that chance.
Shame on Kash Ali for not taking a stoppage like a man and instead getting himself disqualified. It has only served to discredit Pricey further. Kash was not gonna win the fight, he was completely out of his depth, biting throughout and was in the process of getting bingo’d as his legs had gone and he held on to Price for dear life before pulling him down to the floor. He refused to get up if you remember, even with the ref trying to pull him away before sinking his teeth into Price once again. It was a stoppage, he was done. Little was also bingo’d on his feet and once again Price was deprived of a legitimate win. Just a few seconds more and Price would have a stoppage win against Povetkin but it wasn’t to be. It’s fine lines. I think Price is pretty much done now but like Helenius, he still has that one big punch that could bingo absolutely anyone. If he lands a big clean hook on Allen I don’t care how good his chin is, he’s going down and as much as I like Allen as a personality, I hope Price does.
If the odds keep getting up this may be the rare occasion for me to bet on Price. It would also have to be Price inside 6 rounds since surely any other way for Price to win is a physical impossibility.
I don't know on this one I think they are both dog poo. Browne was showing allen up before the bodyshot and Browne is a big bag of old poo. It's prices fists Vs Allen's face for the first 5 rounds. Of allen is still there after that price will get knocked out eventually. Or maybe they will both gas after 6 and it'll be a hug fest for the rest of the rounds. I can't call it, but I'm pretty sure it will be boring and poor quality
Name me the last David Price that was boring. Come on man. David Price hasn’t been in a boring fight his entire career. We can accuse him of lots of things but not that ...
Last one against Ali was pretty poor. But you are right what I should have said is the first 4-5 rounds will be ok but one price gasses and slows down after failing to k.o Allen it will become a hug fest of sweat and poor quality boxing.
I can't be the only one that thinks Price's power is overrated can I? Got a fantastic KO against Sexton years and years ago (let's be honest Sexton is british level and below anyway) but has no big KO's in my opinion. Allen knocks him out inside 3 rounds.
