I wanted Thompson but I do feel for Price. Seemed like a decent guy but did not have the package to compete at the top lovels. Very unforgiving sport that we all enjoy so much.
I love the commentators arguing about what if price did this or that. British hearts were broken tonight, especially david price's.
The ref can issue a standing 8 count if he feels it's warranted. However, it's not done much anymore in pro boxing and in this case I think the hometown ref was trying to give Price enough of a break from the onslaught to get back into the fight. He saw that Price had nothing left though, and rightly waived it off.
While I understand Price might be shite was Thompson not talking about every boxer juicing before the first fight? :rofl
Thompson had already beaten Price before. How in the hell is this a "shock"? Biased as hell comentator. Needs to get his hips broken.
Tony Thompson is my hero. At 41 he beat a young, big man, who was also a silver medalist at the olympics. Price's only flaw is that he is british, but Thompson capitalized on that. Fragile hearts and fragile bodies.
I'm American, and I don't see why we have to bring nationalism in to these things. Why hate on the British...they are our allies, friends, and founders of our country. Boxing is an individual sport and Tony Thompson right now is better than David Price. I'm happy he won, but it has nothing to do with Price being British.
