his getting no world title shot but if he could win the britsh outright and get a shot at the euro then his had a decent career
I’m thinking maybe Price should be awarded the Povetkin win in retrospect. The time running out and the ropes being in the damn way were clearly unfair disadvantages faced by our Dave. And we will give him Thompson x 2 and Teper as well because of drug testing failures. So that leaves Hammer and lets be honest Dave was so out of breath that night it’s clear that he wasn’t himself, maybe he had his pre fight cuppa spiked by those untrustworthy Romanians.Im willing to call that a draw. Cheated not defeated-Mcclosky 2
What? No just no. If he had been dropped heavy he wouldn’t have been ‘kept up by the ropes’.The rest is pure speculation on your part. But look at it like this.He dropped Tony Thompson and Christian Hammer hard yet didn’t finish them,Povetkin is certified iron after Wlad battered him for 12 rounds,so why do we know Price finishes off a guy tougher than 2 others he didn’t.After a ‘KD’ that wasn’t as emphatic?
Price would have to grab a couple of good solid wins before he could even be considered and I just don't see him getting them. Maybe the winner of Takam Vs Chisora? Then maybe somebody like Pulev? And then he could be considered I suppose? But that might take a year and then who is he fighting for a world title? assuming they both keep winning AJ or Wilder? AJ has or will have mandatory challenges or if they sort it out it might be Wilder and Wilder wouldn't fight Whyte FFS so I don't think he'll fight Price because Hearn won't be paying large sums of money for fighting Price so it's not a lot of reward for Wilder against a solid puncher. Don't get me wrong, I believe Wilder knocks him the F out and do does AJ but Price carries enough power to cause a major upset but doesn't bring much else so he is potentially dangerous without bringing in money. I just think Price would have to get in to a mandatory position and we saw with Ortiz and even now with Whyte that doesn't always guarantee a world title shot.
If Price could string together two decent wins he'll get a shot. The HW division isn't that deep. Realistically, if AJ beats Povetkin, Fury won't happen anytime soon, and if Wilder doesn't happen we will most likely see Whyte II Big Baby Miller Possibly even a Chisora if he gets a few wins All that said I don't see Price getting any good wins so it's a bit of an irrelevant discussion anyway
Did Price fall over and hit his chin again? He has been pulling out of a few fights in last 2 years... Something is clearly up.
Back injury.Announced at 4 o clock on the day of the show which apparently was billed ‘Price rises again’. Firstly that’s appalling for ticket buyers and secondly I wonder if it was nailing down a suitable opponent that was the real problem.
