Prichard Colon to headline in Philly on Jan 31

    Chester, PA (December 31, 2014)--On Saturday night, January 31, undefeated Jr. Middleweight Prichard Colon will take on Jonathan Batista
    in the featured bout on a 10 bout card at Harrahs Philadelphia.

    The show is promoted by Kings Promotions and XFE.

    Colon of Orocovis, Puerto Rico and Batista will square in the 8-round bout that will top a bill that will feature 9 undefeated fighters.

    Colon, 22 years old, has a record of 12-0 with 10 knockouts and will be fighting for the 13th time in just under two years. He is coming off a 8-round unanimous decision over Christopher Degollado (11-2) on September 11 in Las Vegas.

    Batista of the Dominican Republic has a record of 14-5 with seven knockouts.

    The 30 year-old Batitsa will be facing his 6th undefeated fighter and Colon will be the 4th straight unblemished opponent.

    Batista has a win over previously undefeated Ruddy Ascasio (2-0). He is coming off a 6-round unanimous decision defeat to Dominique Dolton (14-0) on November 14 in Pittsburgh, Pa.

    In the 8-round co-feature, undefeated Gervonte Davis will fight Israel Suarez in a Featherweight bout.

    Davis of Baltimore, Md. has a record of 9-0 with 8 knockouts.

    He is coming off a 6-round unanimous decision over 79-fight veteran German Meraz on October 8 in Biloxi, Mississippi.

    Suarez of Luquillo, Puerto Rico has a record of 4-4-2 with 1 knockout.

    He is capable with wins over Omar Pena (2-0-1) and Fauris Capellan (1-0) as well as a draw with Frank Trader (10-1). He is coming off a close split decision defeat to Frankie De Alba on April 18 in Allentown, PA.

    In 6-round bouts:

    Grayson Blake (5-3, 2 KO's) of State College, PA will face Anthony Prescott (5-4-2, 2 KO's) of Cherry Hill, NJ.in a Jr.

    Kyrone Davis (5-0, 3 KO's) of Wilmington, DE will take on an opponent to be named in a Middleweight bout.

    Stephen Fulton (3-0, 1 KO) of Philadelphia will take on an opponent to be announced in a Jr. Featherweight bout.

    Caleb Plant (5-0, 4 KO's) of Ashland, Tennessee will fight David Lopez (4-11-3, 1 KO) of Caldwell, Idaho in a Middleweight fight.

    Kareem Martin (3-0-1, 2 KO's) of Washington, DC will battle James Robinson (3-2-2, 1 KO) of York, PA in a Welterweight fight.

    Willie Jones (4-0, 2 KO's) of Tampa, FL will square off with Christian Steele (4-11-2, 1 KO) of York, PA in a Welterweight tilt.

    In 4-round Bouts:

    Earl Newman (3-1, 3 KO's) of Brooklyn, NY will fight Darnell Hayes (0-1) of Lebanon, PA in a Cruiserweight battle.

    Robert Irizarry (2-0-1) of Cherry Hill, NJ will box Luis Acevedo (1-0-1) of Bethlehem, PA in a fight between undefeated Featherweights.

    Just watched the most recent fight of his I could against Carlos Garcia. Definitely not a world beater opponent but you could see he had skills and was game. Judging from that fight it looks like Prichard could have some trouble during the early rounds but he gets going well. Haymon signed fighter and say what you will about that but the guy recognizes talent. They really been trying to move things along with as he has fought 7 times in '14, speaking perfect English is another plus (not even an accent) and highly touted by Tito. Though that didn't work all that well for the last guy that was true for, Juanma. This guy is from the town my Dad has retired to, Orocovis. Only time will tell if he puts it on the map.
