What are you willing to pay for this PPV? What would the casuals be willing to pay for this PPV? And what do you think it will end up costing?

I feel they need to take 2 main things in to account,

1, if they have any serious ambitions to fight Joshua then they are hoping this fight blows up big time, the more they can make here the more they can legitimately demand from Hearn and Joshua. Since Hearns 1st offer of 12.5 Million ive felt there has been a bit of a rush on Stateside to quickly build Wilders profile. So really the more they charge the more money they get.

But at the same time this is Wilder 1st PPV. I hear he does very good numbers on none PPV but it can be a big step from 1 to the other. The price has to be set right 1st time out and there must be a reason why after 40 fights, 7 or so as champion he isnt already a PPV star.

Im sure HBO or who ever it is, Finkel, Haymon and the other people with a say are desperate to set the price at 80 to 100 Dollars and that is what it might take to have any chance to do the numbers that would set Eddie Hearns nerves going but is it too risky to do that?

You may ask why a Boxing fans gives a monkeys about pricings and that i just should want the fights bla bla bla but the fact is it is a major part of this sport and what does and doesnt happen in it, these days more than ever. I love Boxing, i want this big Joshua fight like everybody else and its little things like these that go towards these fights ever happening.

Without a very-very strong undercard (like that possible Leo Santa Cruz vs. Gary Russell Jr. fight, etc.) this PPV will be an epic fail commercially...

This ppv could be shades of Hughie Fury on youtube . Not that it isn't a great fight but Windmill's promotion is terrible and hardly anyone stateside know who Fury is.

    $0,00 for me.
RTL7 will possibly air it (for free) if the fight is on early for the UK/Euro market, and otherwise I wouldn't bother to stay up for it anyway.

For casuals in the US/UK, I'd say a $30 PPV would be fine. Probably tanking anyway.

I've been wrong on Floyd vs. McGregor thinking it would flop. But my God, if Wilder vs. Fury will sell 750k I'm going on suicide watch.

200k IMO would be a massive success.

This shouldn't really be on PPV in the US at all. Casuals won't buy it. Hardcores will, although they tend to be the ones that use illegal streams. I can see it being a total flop. It's had no time to build/marinate. It's not as if Fury is coming off a spectacular knockout. His highlight reel is poor and he's a big fat balding white man. It's not exactly a marketeer's dream. This could also be a terrible fight. Wilder is sloppy at the best of times and Fury is a master spoiler. This fight is not ready, certainly not for a PPV audience.

In other words how to justify demanding 50/50 vs Joshua...

Most casual fans prefer watching Fury's press conference antics to his actual fights.

You are way out of touch with the PPV market. Floyd vs McGregor was a guaranteed success.

I am in the same boat as you when it comes to Wilder vs Fury. But there is no way it will get 750k. Both of them are headlining their first US PPV.
And when was the last time anyone got close to 500k? Especially in recent years?

I mean, I'd pay a hundred plus for it, but I'm a hardcore fan. The real question is what will casuals pay. I don't think we'll have an answer to that question until after the event. There are too many examples both ways of how it could go. I think we can set up a reasonable parameter that it will sell somewhere between 150k and 500k, hard to find a historical comp (factors including: two fighters that haven't been on PPV before, 50/50ish fight, both undefeated, title on the line, and in the HW division) that doesn't fall somewhere in that range. Setting that total sale figure, they can then price the fight accordingly.

Contents of this thread is quite amazing when reflecting on why AJ is not penned to fight either of these two. They both demanding like 50/ 50 stake from AJ yet neither has any commercial draw.

"200k a big success" when, according to some (Warren at least), the winner of this fight has claim to call themselves the best heavyweight on the planet. lol.

This fight happens on the West coast, where Fury and Wilder have no fans. At 3 or 4 AM in the UK where fight fans will not stay up to watch the fight. And on PPV where neither Wilder nor Fury have ever fought before hahaha. Yeah, it's safe to say this fight will bomb big time. For the Lewis vs Klitschko fight the total attendance was 15,939. But Lewis had been fighting in the US for years and against guys like Tyson and Holyfield. Fury has no fans here and Wilder fans don't come out to see him live. Wilder should have taken that 15 million because he's now tied to Fury for two fights at 1-2 million apiece. Stupid
