el terible... guzman during that time was fast but way more open because he's usually looking for a ko win. erik exploits it and wins a lopsided ud

Morales beat better opposition at 122lbs than Guzman. (Barrera, Junior Jones, Zaragoza). I agree, Guzman is a good slick fighter but a little overrated.

Its been going on for quite a while now actually. Its quite annoying. I seriously hope Nate beats Guzman to shut the fanboys up.

Morales Prime at 122 is competitive head to head with anyone who has ever lived. There is no one at the weight I would favor over him.

Guzman at the time was known for scoring flashy knockdowns, but he also has lousy balance and his defence is him ducking and slipping out of the way in time.
Morales had power, speed, superb boxing skills, Iron chin, could brawl like no other.

Beat Guzman by UD and knocks him down twice.

Morales, simply because he has proven himself against the elite while Guzman has not. Guzman is undoubtedly very good, but Morales is one of the greatest ever at 122lbs. In fact the only person I'd favor over him at 122 is Wilfredo Gomez, and even that would be a close fight. I just can't see Guzman having the offense to compete with a monster like Morales, even defensively I doubt he'd be able to handle Erik's arsenal. Guzman also has the tendency to brawl, I can't see that helping him here.

Not just the Soto victory, mate. Even the Barrios victory has also gotten into their heads.

Morales puts a whooping down so bad that Guzman has to carry Erik's bags back to the hotel and wash his clothes.

Morales by decision in a close fight this wouldnt as easy as some people here seem to think.
