Who did Wlad fight that had elite movement, blazing fast hand speed and threw combos?

We're talking about primes here, the clinching Ali was the older one from the 70s. Klitschko would find it hard to tie up a constantly moving Ali.

I know Wlad was out of his prime but a constantly moving Fury confused him big time as did Usyk in sparring. Ali would make him fight at a high pace, something which he hated doing.

I see this being a close match despite the size difference.

Byrd and Povetkin just stood in front of Wlad flat footed.

Yeah gotta laugh at the clinch jibes at Wlad in this thread yes he clinched like mad but actually so did Ali.

Then please explain to me where the hell Wlad is too big for Ali?

Ernie Terrell was the same size and even longer reach than Wlad
and Ali doesn't look like a midget in the ring.
In fact, Ali is quite tall and wouldn't be small even today but some people here
talk like as if this man were 20 cm smaller than Wlad

Has Wlad more Muscles and Weight? Of course and who cares?

The scared to death David Haye landing on Wlad at will and dodged Wlads punches very well.

Ali was better in every department , had the unshakable will and self-confidence and would take more risks.

The difference is that Wlad was a big clincher at his best while Ali became one when past his best. He did clinch at times in the 60's, but not at all with the frequence he did in the 70's.

It is ridiculous to suggest that Klitschko would win, we have seen how much he suffered against Fury - and Ali was even more evasive and faster than Fury (and I don't think he was a weaker puncher than the version of Fury who fought Klitschko). It would end like Foreman-Ali.

I know the version of Wlad against Fury was not his prime, but he was not far from his prime - just in his previous fight he put on one of the best performances of his career against Pulev. I like Wlad but this would a clear, convincing win for Ali.

Both overrated H2H & both changed their approach and tactics mid career. They are easy to work out though if you have the physical ability to pull off the right fight plan. Foreman could have beat Ali but got complacent and caught off guard. Should have controlled the earlier rounds with more poise ready to endure an entire fight distance.

Wlad was always stamina constrained, something Fury could have capitalized on but didn't, Prime Fury would have TKO'd him easily on stamina alone.
Ali's stamina got a little worse with age but he became a more conservative fighter anyway as his feet slowed down
    Ali's chin got better
Wlad's chin stayed the same but he fought more scared and panick clinches anywhere near mid/close range.

I don't think we ever got to see Prime Ali... We almost didn't get to see Prime Fury and even Prime Lennox against high tier opponents. The timing window is small and some would even say subjective.

Physical Prime Wlad was 2012 ish and it wasn't really impressive physically but he made easy work of small men no matter how dangerous using his range. That was his forte. When a big man commits to his jab and gets a smaller man stuck behind it, it's fight ending and probably the most brutal thing in boxing because of how deceptive it is. Ask Chisora about his nightmares of Fury's jab. Which is how Usyk was such a success against AJ, he took the jab out of play from the get go with EASE. Fury is different, he can throw the jab 50 different ways from any position.

He clinched in the fights that mattered (Frazier 2 and Foreman).

Liston's reach is fake. It was nowhere close to 84 inches.

Ali couldn't put Norton down even once in 45 rounds.

I guarantee that HWs like Sanders or Joshua punch a lot harder than Ali.

I'd say his 10 title fights in the 60's mattered. And that that was his prime self, not the 32-year old of '74.

I'd back Ali to find a way to win on points as long as he doesn't eat anything big. Probably would taste the canvas at some point.

Onr of the few matchups where Wlad does better than his brother is vs Ali.

Vitali has a lean back low hands style. Ali is quicker and I argue he has longer arms as well.
    I doubt Vitali's reach.

Ali's faster hands pick him apart towards a wide ud.
    Nobody is ko'ing anyone.
