The fact that Wlad can't fight inside for ****, and has a terrible uppercut, really hinders him here.

50/50 fight imo. If Wlad can get into his (1-2, clinch, lean) rhythm then I think he takes it, however if Frazier can get inside consistently and get off his shots in time, there's a high chance he stops Wlad late on accumulation.

The key to Wlad is his jab. He bases everything around that punch...he uses it to control the distance, to keep the other guy off balance, to set-up his right hand, etc. Frazier has some of the best bobbing and weaving that I've ever seen, particularly for a heavyweight, and that's the perfect tool to neutralise a good jab. You slip the shot and counter with your own. Ali had real trouble pinning Frazier down with his jab, and his jab was beautiful.

I think Wlad is at the stylistic disadvantage here. His sheer size, reach, cautious approach and reliance on the jab means that he fares better against guys who try to box him on the outside. A technical match from range is his territory. Frazier wouldn't even attempt to do this -- he'd be constantly coming in, weaving around the jab, and trying to find an opening for that leaping left-hook, which is an excellent weapon against a tall guy who boxes in quite an upright fashion. Frazier would have some trouble landing at points, but when Wlad backpedals Frazier would simply see that as an invitation to keep gaining ground. (Notice that Haye would 'reset' every time he missed, and back off again, while Frazier would do the opposite.)

Frazier's relentless pressure, determination, head movement, left hook, ability to go to the body as well as the head, and infighting would cause Wlad very serious issues.

Give The K brothers some credit. In an era of supposedly great advancement in training method, at least they train and come to fights in condition. How many heavies can say the same today. Joe KO in R 14

    :-(....this is getting stupid
Frazier wouldn't have a chance to get inside Wlad, and even if he would Wlad would simply clinch and lean his massive weight on him and tire him out.
Frazier won't fight like Haye, he will come out open to Wlad and if he decides to trade with Wlad like he did with Foreman, he's getting knocked out cold.

I think it really depends on what version of Wladimir and Joe we're referring to.

On the whole, it would make an interesting clash of styles regardless.

Easy fight for Wlad, he would stay outside and jab Frazier to death then go in for the KO mid fight.

Nothing against Joe Frazier, but Vitali or Vlad would have knocked him out, way too big, hit way too hard. Look what Foreman did to Frazier.............Ali/Frazier fights were great fight, loved them, but no chance against Vitali or Vlad.

Duh wladmir is taller than him and weighs more.

So obviously wlad wins. Size is ALL that matters remember?

Wladimir would be just too big for Frazier to bully. Id rather watch Frazier fight by a long way ..... but Wladimir would knock a peak Frazier out anywhere between 6 - 10.
