tyson would have his early moments but lennox's uppercut would be the story of the fight and would end with Tyson in a heap around round 11.

Tyson in his prime would gobble up Lewis and send him reeling ala Berbick.

And I love Lewis and I hate Tyson

No one ****s with Mike in his prime y'all know that

I'd take the best version of Lewis over the best Tyson.

People have short memories or they werent around during that time..growing up in NY..everyone was in tune with Iron Mike...

For teh 3 years you mentioned..Ali,SRR, SRL, RRJ combined cannot come close to the reign of terror and sheer domination of his opponents Mike had.

His opponents were underrated as well Tubbs, Bonecrusher, Berbick, Thomas, Tucker, Spinks, remerber the truth?
He was mowing them 3 to 4 times a year..He was relatively active in those years

prime Tyson would knock out prime Lewis worse than what Oliver Mccall did to him

Lewis sparred with Tyson in their primes, well documented story. Tyson got beat up and wanted nothing to do with Lewis since.

Sure, that's why Tyson got beat up in their sparring and didn't want to fight Lewis for a while.

    I'd agree with that completely.

Lewis' overhand right was a big, big punch that was capable of ending fights there and then, whereas my overwhelming memory of prime Tyson was him getting a good shot in and then finishing fights with spectacular combos.

Very detailed post. Perhaps a bit longwinded (though I'm often guilty myself) but I gotta say, GREAT JOB! I agree with most everything you said and your assignment of attributes is spot on!

I choose Tyson by a late stoppage, although Lewis is intelligent enough that he could make it the distance. Just because Tyson did a lot of things better than Lewis it doesn't necessarily mean that what Lewis did have wouldn't be enough to trouble Tyson. Lewis was physically big and strong enough to slow Tyson down in spots.. and as far as chins go let's give Lewis a little bit of credit here, yes his chin is shaky, but that doesn't mean he couldn't take a punch or handle himself in the face of pressure or in the midst of a dogfight as he's shown against Klitschko and Mercer, both of whom were landing frequently. Lewis was also very good about protecting his chin.

Chin-Tyson, never down or put on ***** street with one shot, unlike Lewis. Tyson KO'd/TKO'd after long cumulative beatdown (Douglas, Holy, Lewis)
Power-close, but give Tyson the edge(Tysons one punch to Botha, versus Lewis's on Rahman- both were sick.
    Speed-Tyson handsdown
    Movement/footwork-Tyson
Defense-Even, Tysons headmovement, while Lewis's height and reach provide most of his defense.
    Jab-Lewis

Prime for prime, Tyson would be favored.
