Would Oleksandr win a cautious fight on points? Could he overwhelm Bowe with his stance, speed and respectable power? Would Bowe drag to a war with his pressure and inside-game Usyk? Would he hurt his opponent multiple times? A fascinating match-up where I would favour Usyk yet I wouldn't 100% bet on it.
Yup, he’d have a field day with that defense. He’s also much better than Holy at engaging without leaving himself open and more importantly can commit to a game plan.
Me reading the last two replies wondering "why is this guy talking to himself" and then realizing @swagdelfadeel and @catchwtboxing are different persons
Bowe was better than Fury. If Chisora's style can give Usyk fits. Bowe would better Chisora's efforts very very easily, people don't realise how genuinely skilled Bowe was in shape and in his prime. Those body shots would hurt so f*****g much.
The Bowe 'Peak' was an offensive threat rarely seen in the division. His assaults on Usyk would make Fury's window of opportunity (Fury/Usyk I) feel like a foot massage.
I think all of that is spot on, and I would just add that the only time Bowe looked great is when he had a massive height and weight advantage against Holy. Usyk fights in the 220's and has proven himself against a lot of big boys...he's not getting bullied.
I think Bowe provides one of the sterner tests for Usyk. 'Unicorn' Bowe, fit, motivated, on point was a beast. Unpredictable, brilliant inside fighter, consistent power that he carried through the fight, and not a little bit crazy, a lot crazy. Based on nothing but sentiment and a lifelong embrace of left field options, I'm gonna say Bowe's unorthodox style and occasional vulnerability drags Usyk into a fight that turns downright nasty after 8 rounds, the later rounds starting to resemble the ones Fury caught Usyk with every uppercut known to man, and all the body shots, combined with Usyk catching Bowe like he caught Fury...but Bowe staying up. Bowe drops Usyk twice late from hellacious body shots but can't stop him and the result doesnt matter. It is so close that fans of both fighters argue about it forever...
