This is a very level-headed assessmnt. This is a fight where both guys have the tools and styles to give the other guy absolute hell. On one night Ali could frustrate the hell out of Tyson and box to a decision. On another night Tyson could catch Ali and put him down. It's just that sort of match-up.
mm ok ok, yes, tyson would destroy patterson and johanson. i pick a prime tyson 87(with rooney) to beat anyone except a prime holyfield 90-91, george foreman 73-74, ali 64-67,liston 59. 50/50 against a prime frazier 70-71 , tyson early or frazier late. 50/50 against joe louis. tyson early or louis late.
Joe Louis is a guy who I can't understand how people give him any sort of chance against Tyson. Tyson would have knocked Louis out early and I don't really have any questions about it.
years ago i did think equal, you should check the career of the brown bomber maybe you will change your mind. joe louis would absolutely destroy any rival of mike tyson, he would stop even holyfield by tko and he would ko lewis.
This post can't be for real.... Have you actually watched footage of Louis? Based on actual footage of the man, he was a great fighter by all means. That said, Tyson demolishes him very early in the fight. There's nothing to suggest that Louis stops Holyfield or Lewis. Louis could punch, but aside from a single bit shot slipping through, he doesn't beat either guy by stoppage. If they fight one hundred times, this would happen less than five times.
You think Louis stops Holyfield and Lewis, and you're questioning me. Too funny. Edit: I'll even expand on this. Break down for me how you think Louis should be favoured to TKO Holyfield and KO Lewis?
Louis was pretty small for a heavyweight, for most of his prime he was barely making the lower boundary for the HW limit. To straight KO a HW ATG in Lewis who had on avg 40+ lbs on him sounds unlikely to say the least.
He wasn't only small, he was flat-footed as hell. He got the dog**** beaten out of him by Max Schmeling, who would get knocked over the top rope in a laugher by ****ing Ray Mercer or Tommy Morrison, quick and easy every time. Louis got mad propaganda for being a wartime champ and doing everything he could for the war effort, which is great... however, we're still getting the trickle-down effects of that propaganda to this day. He might make my top 10 HW list. Maybe.
:rofl:rofl:rofllol:you don´t know what are you talking... primo carnera was 6´7 and 260-280 pounds of pure muscle, and it was his natural weight, lewis weighed 220-230 in his 20s in his prime. he trained weights like a madman in his 30s to adapt his weight to bigger rivals. then he weighed 245 pounds in his 30s, it was not his natural weight and he was more slow.louis destroyed carnera.(i know that lewis was better fighter than carnera, but you are talking about size), lennox lewis had a weak chin and he was hurt by a bum like frank bruno. a good finisher would ko him.joe louis was the best finisher of all time, if you are hurt against louis you are ko for sure. holyfield weighed 209 pounds in his prime. joe louis weighed 207... the size is not matter. dempsey weighed 188 and willard 245... holyfield was hurt seriously by a cruiser like bert cooper, joe louis could tko or ko evander absolutely for sure. obviously the general forum is of adolescents...
after to read this bunch of crap. i will not spend my time answering. (maybe you should put this comment on the classic forum, and later you wait for the answers)
