Ali. Too much movement , jabs, chin, smarts and heart for Tyson to overcome imo.

This is a fantasy matchup so nobody can say 100% for sure but with the punchers etc Ali fought and the way he could take a punch I just don't see Ali being stopped, and prime Ali would be hard to catch much. Even for Iron Mike. And as the fight goes on I see Ali frustrating Tyson and winning on points or even late stoppage.

I don't have a problem with anyone picking Tyson but these arguments based on what actually happened in their prime and careers.

Everything can happen in a fight but whats most realistic.I mean if Tyson knocked out everyone he faced in his prime I would maybe consider him stopping Ali. Even better if Tyson in his prime stopped a prime atg or two. Let's say he stopped a prime Holyfield, PRIME Holmes or something. Then I would really have something to think about. But prmie Iron Mike was not the beast that stopped everyone he fought and prime Ali is a few levels above these guys like Tucker.

And some might argue Tyson was stopped by Buster Douglas in his prime. Maybe he was not but he was certainly as close to his prime then as Ali was after the layoff when people argue Frazier beat prime Ali. And when people use the argument of style Frazier/Tyson then the boxing performance of Buster can just as much used for what Ali would do to Tyson.

And my biggest problem with using the Frazier/Tyson argument is this.
Tyson is not Frazier+Tyson. Are their style even that similar? One thing is that Frazier really went to work inside. Tyson would be a hell of a lot easier to tie up. Tyson did not work much inside.

And the main thing here. Yeah Tyson is faster than Frazier and can hurt you more with his right and could get to Ali that way. But the main difference is Frazier's unbelivable heart and determination. He did beat up Ali once he got smokin' in that great FOTC performance. But to get there he took a beating aswell.

You don't get to prime Ali without getting that jab and right hand in your face a lot. That did not slow down Joe. But he was special that way. Im not saying Tyson had no heart etc. But I belive he would've been discouraged and slow down. Not keep coming.

I think tyson would win, I have switched sides on this 100 times in my mind already.
I think tyson who was as fast as ali, atleast upperbody is able to get inside and throw some serious combo´s. I dotn think Ali has the power to keep him away. He would have to be moving a lot and ty up everytime tyson gets inside.
One thingn that is important to take into consideration is the menatl aspect, Ali was much smarter and would definitely make mike lose it before and after the fight.
I stil cant really make up my mind on this but I give the edge to prime tyson.

    I don't see this.

Louis had the tools to knock Tyson out. Devestating combinations and great uppercuts.

He would get as low as Tyson, especially if Tyson can't take Louis out early and begins to tire. This leaves him more vulnerable and Louis doesn't miss.

Tyson has a great style against tall fighters and guys that fold under pressure or are too weak to deal with him, but Louis doesn't fit that description.

It's kinda funny, all your laughing as if the classic board were some kind of font of knowledge. Fact is, classic is a joke. I've seen beauties seriously discussed there like Tunney over Ali, Dempsey over Foreman - seriously, you people are just idiots. You're in this thread talking like Primo Carnera was in some way, shape or form comparable to Lennox Lewis. He wasn't. Carnera was a joke who would get the holy **** kicked out of him by Vinny Maddalone. So you can **** off back to the fairy tale forum now ummmkay?

Tyson fights NOTHING like Max Schmeling. NOTHING. I mean, it's not even relevant at all.

In fact the technique that Schmeling used to beat Louis is not even part of Tyson's arsenal.

I mean, did you even see that fight or are your just sayin dumb **** to get a rise?

How can you say this when it's obvious you haven't even watched film of the fighters you're disrespecting?

Boxrec is the extent of your knowledge.

So it sees like the JOKE is you, especially when you're using fighter A beats fighter B who beat fighter C type of logic.

Louis didn't take him seriously that night, we all saw what happened when Tyson didn't take Buster seriously, besides Schmeling was a former World Champ, its not like he was a chump.

As for the fight, It could go either way, both these guys are in the top 5, when it comes to HW punchers, Tyson was a better athlete but Louis was more versatile, and had alot of subtle tricks he used to set guys up. I will say this Louis has the advantage, in that he can adjust if things aren't going his way, Tyson can't. I slightly favor Louis here.

I wouldn't go that far, but I agree he would win.
