Because I actually know boxing. Carnera was a mob creation who couldn't fight a lick. Most of the fighters you idolize from the Golden Era, compared to fighters today, were crude sluggers. Winging wide punches with their head down, hands at their waist, frankly they were awful. I repeat: Max Schmeling gets brutally knocked the **** out by Ray Mercer, Bert Cooper, Tommy Morrison or any other B or low level A fighter you care to name. In fact, he couldn't get work as a sparring partner. So does Jack Sharkey and all the other names you love to drop as if they were somehow magical. In the 40's and 50's, nobody won a title unless Frankie Carbo said so anyway. Boxing was completely corrupted and mob controlled.

It's hilarious really... the world record mile holder running in the 40's probably couldn't beat a good high school miler today. No sport has remained static, including boxing. If you want to say that if Jack Dempsey were born today and trained his ass off, he could be a cruiserweight champ or something like that, then fine. Whatever gets you off. Trying to maintain that he could beat Mike Tyson or anyone even remotely close to that level is a joke, and it's stupid. Just plain stupid.

How exactly can he adjust? Louis was slow of foot, he couldn't move well at all. Louis won by catching you on the chin with his right hand. That's it. That was his game in it's entirety. Tyson was faster, bigger, stronger, punched harder, threw in combinations and could get you out of there with any punch from either hand. He was quick with his feet, with his head movement and with his hands. Just what exactly did Louis do better than Tyson? In fact, what did he do AS WELL as Tyson? Because I can't think of anything.

I'm gonna go against the grain and say Tyson sparks Ali in this fantasy match up :) Tyson was super explosive and had the speed to catch Ali in his prime.

The SAME can be said of Louis who was better inside, had a very good jab, and was a master counter puncher, a complete boxer with dynamite in each hand, unlike Tyson, Louis you couldn't simply hold him to to stop his power, don't get me wrong, Tyson has all the tools to win here but this could go either way, and to say Louis has no chance is crazy.

Watch this video. Ali is afraid just thinking about fighting Mike Tyson. Skip ahead to 2:10 when Mike Tyson enters the room, and notice how scared Ali is. He even says "I'm scared of him". If Ali lost so badly to a prime Frazier, he would lose even worse to a prime Tyson.

In this video, Ali explains which type of fighter could beat him. Tyson was only a boy then, but his style was similar to Marciano.

thats called humility and not taking yourself too serious - which ali never did.
it's all heresay, we'll never know - but we probably would have a pretty good idea after 4 rounds..if it was still going.

Ali , but it would be very close . A prime Ali does not stop a prime tyson, but wins a close point Dec.

I wouldnt be suprised if Ali was dropped once or twice, but that great chin doesnt crack.

lol, Buster did not face no Prime Tyson. Tyson was mentally ****ed by then going through personal issues and did not train worth **** but decided to fight anyways. A rematch with a mentally prepared tyson and i say buster goes down no later than 6 rounds.

  11. tyson was in his prime against douglas if he did not train it is his fault, douglas had worse problems, his mother was died, tyson was 24, he was in his prime end of the history. the typical **** from the tyson fanboys is tyson was in his prime when he won, when he lost he was not in his prime... what a joke... prime tyson is a lie he never was tested against a prime legend. he destroyed a bum like berbick in his 30s, a lhw spinks in his 30s, the most pathetic version of larry holmes with almost 40 years old.

  12. man, i agree with you, this kid does not deserve answer, the general forum is of adolescents, he know nothing about boxing.
"joe louis maybe would be top 10hw":rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:lol:

A doped up and very troubled man got beaten by Douglas (and a long count). Hardly prime.

Anyway, Tyson KOs Ali. When at his best he was unstoppable. Great movement, great speed, great power.

Tyson has gotta get Ali in the first three rounds. And considering a prime Ali was arguably the hardest heavyweight in history to catch, had one of the greatest chins out of any heavyweight ever, and had possibily one of the greatest ring IQ's of all time, I think its very unlikely Tyson gets him out of there.

Ali, after weathering the initial Tyson storm, would end up giving Tyson a beating.
