50/50 ? He barely survived an ancient Wlad and Vitali told Wlad not to rush for the KO when he had aj hurt. I genuinely believe byrd would make aj gas when he misses all those punches. He wouldn't try and box Byrd he'd try and mow him over and get befuddled.

Povetkin was always a 6 round fighter when he didn't take his Meldonium and was still outboxing joshua at 39 years of age. I don't think aj is that good. Him getting ran over by Dubois confirmed my suspicions. He was flattered for beating old men. He could get upset by someone like a prime McCline. He would've picked up 3 or 4 losses in the Klitschko era

Usyk and Byrd are two peas in a pod.

Parker was better than Byrd. Speaking of McCline. Byrd barely beat him and many thought he lost. Byrds best asset in that fight was being signed to Don King.
Byrd also barely beat / robbed Williamson and Oquendo. Parker was a harder fight than Byrd

aj benefited from the ref that night. Williamson and Byrd was a snooze fest stylistically. Nobody got robbed. Oquendo was something else that night, executed the perfect game plang of exploiting Byrds low workrate against rangy fighters and getting off first. Joshua would try and maul Byrd, Byrd would swim without getting wet, outbox him and drive that southpaw exit. joshua has low iq. Parker has a better chance at beating Byrd

No , the ref ruined it for Joshua as well. Wouldn't allow him to inside box.
Parker had legs and a punch. Byrd was a sitting duck with pillows for fists. Joshua rolls him over. Thats simply all there is to it.

    Ditto.

I like Byrd. But Usyk is Mike Tyson compared to Byrd when it comes to punching power.

Usyk is also defensively better than Byrd.

I don’t think he’s better defensively but he is better, Byrd isn’t as good as people think, I think anyway. @cross_trainer how do you rate Byrd overall? I always felt like he gets a touch overrated at times.

Byrd, Povetkin, but isn't Joshua overrated by all the young people on the forum ?
Joshua is the most overrated fighter of the last 10 years, easily.

I imagine an even fight in which Joshua comes out aggressive, probably winning the first 2 or 3 rounds. Little by little, he starts to lose the rhythm of the fight, he starts to tire and miss punches. Byrd starts to get into his rhythm, countering and being elusive. Joshua ends up frustrated. Byrd wins something like 7-5/8-4.

Disagree, people is saying here prime Joshua prime wladimir is 50/50.

If Joshua hadn't had Hearns setting up his career from the start, he would have been just another champion, like Byrd, Ruiz Jr., Ruiz, Chagaev, etc.

You got 2 guys in your profile pic which were more overrated than AJ considering their careers and some opinions about their greatness.

I doubt many people overestimate Wilder today, in my opinion Fury is a level above Joshua.

Thats current though. People always shower the current fighters with praise they(usually) don't deserve. Usyks in the HW GOAT convo for beating 5 guys.

Byrd got elevated into the class of "guy you blame champions for not fighting". And hes been done awhile now and the clock hasn't struck midnight. I can't fathom looking back at Lennox Lewis's career and thinking "if only he fought Bowe, Moorer and Chris Byrd".
