  1. Prime archie moore vs prime roy jones jr .lhw 12 rounds.

My opinion is , archie would look like an amateur idiot ,jones would outbox him.
    Jones by ud.

1)I loved roy jones almost as much as anyone, ESPECIALLY on the classic

2)i don't think any light heavy ever makes moore look like an amateur. The greatest 175 pounder ever, ezzard charles, clearly won their bouts but i doubt he ever embarassed him

I see this as being very winnable for jones. it's blasphesmous to say but rjj had a lot in common with charley burley, who by reports clearly beat moore at middleweight and there was never a return.

I think the stylistic similars between rjj and burley were such that he could replicate such a feat with economic aggression, carefully timed attacks which would avoid prolonged engagement and instead focus on maximum damage from the outside and rarely trade inside. moore was patient and brilliant and that would cost him; jones would potshot to a decision with scary moments late as moore begins to time him

  3. jones would beat charles as well

Jones is much more muscular and post-1970, so it's a no-brainer: Jones by KO or UD.

Moore lacked in experience and wasn´t in his prime against Burley. And Jones is no Burley.

I guess, Jones get´s knocked out while beeing ahead on the cards. Moore will set traps and Jones will fall for one of them at some point which means lights out.

  7. yes in my opinion he would do, he was much faster,(hands and feet), more accurate, harder puncher, stronger, more muscular, more advanced... simply jones was better than charles... hard but true.

Jones was great, but I still think Archie would find a way to beat him. The Ol' Mongoose was as cunning as he was skilful.

  10. .....i agree with him.... jones would beat archie by ud ,(i would not be surprised if archie get ko late )

I hope you're suggesting Archie Moore was very old post-1970, otherwise I'm inclined to believe i've stumbled into the Nickelodeon Nick At Nite boxing forum.

  12. hahaha:rofl

it's entirely possible but stylistically, i think the fight favours jones. archie moore was brilliant and likely rates higher than jones all time both p4p and light heavy (at least on most lists) but in a h2h fight i'd slightly favour roy. i wouldn't put money on either though

I think a lot of RJJ. I also think a lot of pre-70's fighters. Best out of 3, over 12 rounds, I'd maybe lean towards Jones. But I think it's very possible that Archie catches Jones and gets him out of there. It's certainly not a "no brainer" for me.

I don't think Jones beats Charles though at 175.

I think that Jones could have given any light heavy in history problems, but ultimately Moore would have been too cerebral and would have solved the stylistic puzzle posed by Jones's reflexes.

Moore eventualy breaks him down and stops him.
