Canelo might beat the 51 year old Hopkins that Smith knocked out of the ring. Prime Hopkins though, hell no. Canelo is too flat footed. He wouldn't win inside and wouldn't win outside. He'd probably get beat up.

 

The Taylor and Calzaghe fights weren't Hopkins prime, they were post prime. That being said, Canelo doesn't have the legs of a Jones jr. He is fairly flat footed and short. Prime Hopkins doesn't have a problem with flat footed short dudes. It's a recipe to get Canelo abused.
