    foreman for one.
bugner didn't get knocked out by Lyle but he came close. bugner says that'd the worst beating of his whole career
I didn't say amazing. I said he hit very hard. and he does. he caught foreman perfectly and that's why he knocked him down. Foreman says he's never bee hit as hard as Lyle hit him. he could throw bombs.

Foreman was horrible against Lyle. Horrible, coming off of a very long layoff with the demons of Zaire fresh in his mind. My point's pretty much that Lyle has this rep as a big puncher due almost entirely to the Foreman bout, in which there were extenuating circumstances.

Lyle was more of a boxer with physical strength than a puncher.

    not sure,

but bowe excatly the type of fighter that foreman would not want to fight....a strong guy he would have trouble walking down and bullying.....
see lyle fight in his youth

and how older foreman just somehow never got in the ring with bowe, bruno, ruddock, dokes, mccall, tucker etc etc

why because his syle was to walk you down and be in command in the ring....so that is he didnt want to face these guys....

If Bowe fought smart and took adavantage of George's weaknesses, then he'd win.. If he fought careless and tried to trade early, he'd likely get KO'd, or battered at mid point.. Neither man had tremendous defensive skill, and both were easily lured into early exchanges... Foreman had the slight edge in power and aggression, while Bowe had size and more endurance. The thing that I don't like about Bowe, was that he took a lot of shots early against Holyfield, Golata, Hide and a few others... Sure, these men had different styles than Foreman, but nevertheless, he was at the right range, and George could pack one a lot better than any of those guys...

I suppose its a pick 'em fight..

Yeah, Ali was landing good clean straight shots throughout the fight. Foreman left himself so open and Ali would catch him with jabs and straight rights consistently. Ali took a lot of hard body shots, but he was doing pretty well even before Foreman tired and Ali was winning the fight going into the 8th IMO.

Bowe's tendency to brawl and get hit too much makes me favor Foreman in this, although of course Bowe is very live with his skills and size.

tough fight this one i will edge toward foreman by tko around the 7th ,but bowe for me should not be discounted in this match-up as just another early stoppage victim for foreman

it would be a very fought fight. both men will take alot of damage. foreman poor punch technique will make him get alot of shots form bowe and he get hurt often. however, bowe wont be a difficult target for foreman either. foreman is the bigger puncher of the two and hes got a more proven chin. therefore, the most likely scenario is that foreman knocks him out late. imo, a guy like tyson would actually give foreman more problems.

Personally I dont see how Foreman could handle Bowe in the inside. He had a vicious uppercut though and that could work as Bowe came forward.

I think, given Bowe's height and range advantage, if he landed on George early and often, he could really have him in trouble. I feel Foreman would have trouble getting inside because of this.

I think Foreman would have the advantage early and Bowe would have it late. Bowe should have more tools at his disposal than Foreman, given his height and size advantage, as it would allow him to fight on the outside, but he'd be unlikely to use these and he'd fight on the mid range and on the inside, both of which would suit Foreman fine, particular mid range.

I think the main issue is at what distance the fight takes place. At mid range I think Foreman wins, inside and outside, I think Bowe would have the advantage. If I had to pick I'd pick Foreman due to his superior power and abilities to take a punch, but a Bowe win, wouldn't be much of an upset.
