If you react the way Bruno did from getting hit, I would say he had a weak chin. He was stopped the same way in all his losses. Regardless whether you go down or become defenseless on the ropes, I think its still a product of a weak chin or inability to absorb a big shot. I dont think he had a glass jaw, but it was a downfall which prevented him from competing with the big boys. He had the boxing skills, just not the beard.

Disagree, he didn't have the knowledge to deal with being hit, if you take full force shots upon full force shots from Tyson and Lennox without going down you have a beard above most. The problem was he froze when punched, he didn't know how to survive, he wasn't taught and he didn't have the experience.

Bruno just didn't know what to do when someone got to him, he had fights he won easy, little hard sparring, poor trainers. Then dumped in the deepend against world class fighters. The management was a recipe for disaster, I'm going to say it, IF BRUNO WAS MANAGED & TRAINED RIGHT HE'D BE BORDERLINE GREAT

Agree with powerpuncher, there's a difference between bad chin and **** survival skills. If Bruno clung on when hurt by these bombs, would he have a better chin? No.

if bruno was about now and had a roach or steward as trainer, and had had better training from an earlier age, who knows where he could have ranked..perhaps better than foreman??.....but as they say, if wished were horses, beggars would ride...

Freezing is just like going down. Some guys lose control of their legs, some guys lose control of their upper body. Its just like hitting a guy and knocking him down, only when Bruno got hit, his upper body froze, and he was basically defenseless. You saw Tommy Morrison react in a similar manner. Sometimes he would get nailed and know he was defenseless and drop to a knee to get his head back together.

Thats the point I was making, just like when you lose control of your legs when you get hit, some guys lose control of their upper body. Bruno clinched pretty good when his head was straight often using his normal holding and hitting on the side of the head.

He'd be a clear #2 in the division behind Wlad.

I think Bruno would have a hell of a shot at beating Wlad ... his jab would bust him up and unless Wlad opened himself up and risked getting hit early it would be a nasty fight for him as he does not survive punishment well .. his skin puffs and he bleeds easily ... a big , strong man with a hard fast jab with a long reach would be a hell of a challenge for him ..

You can basically see what Im talking about here. Bruno became pretty defenseless when his bell was rung.

Man its amazing how sloppy Lewis was around this time too.

I think Wlad has one of the best jabs in heavyweight boxing ever. Bruno would have a very hard time competing with Wlad in an outside boxing match.
