my bad you're right. calzaghe beat a prime hopkins and roy jones, he's the greatest of all time, his resume is so damn impressive!!!
When did Calzaghes hands turn to glass? I hear this excuse every time. Even earlier in his career Joe had very little power, hence the need to rely on a multitude of punches to get a British stoppage. Out of 46 fights, Calzaghe has 2 kos. Stop using the hands excuse, he was just featherfisted.
Jones and Hopkins wasn't prime but nether was Calzaghe. Calzaghe is closer to being the greatest of all time than Ward, Jones or Hopkins. Your hate for non black, non American fighters have made you blind to true greatness. I feel sorry for you.:-(
Dude I'm 1/4 white, half japanese. I don't have hatred towards non-black fighters at all. My favorite boxers of all time are, roman, floyd, lewis, and arguello. Dont pull that bs with me.
If Missus Gee were judging, I'd say Joe would have one vote for sure. That and a superior work rate should be enough to take it for the lad from Wales.
I would have loved to have seen this fight. Two great fighters. Very intriguing. A genuine 50/50 fight for me.
Maybe, but Calzaghe still struggled badly with a 43 year old Hopkins in a bout I genuinely felt Hopkins edged 114-113, 6 rounds apiece with the knockdown being the difference maker. Ward's legs are far superior to B-Hops, and Ward has advantages over that Hopkins in most facets of the game (especially the left hand, stamina, and ability to in-fight, in addition to being better able to dictate range and distance). I've been wrong plenty of times, but I can't see Calzaghe bringing anything to the table that Ward couldn't cope with.
Calzaghe would headbutt the hell out of Ward. Calzaghe TD7 in Oakland, Jack Reiss raises Joe's arm up, Ward sheds a tear and takes a bus home.
exactly. Duckler are you saying rummy cant score a fight either? i disagree with a lot of waht rummy says, but I can admit the guy knows boxing, and if he scores a fight the other way that I've scored, I'd definitely look at the fight again, and see if I made mistakes.
