Hopkins didn't dominate the first 5 rounds at all. he was up on my card, but only just.
Hopkins didn't gas until the later rounds. you know, the rounds that Hopkins usually has full control over.

the mans age was never a problem before or after the Calzaghe fight. but you do like to try and rip Joe off all the time so it's not surprising.

a fresher Bernard that turned down his biggest pay check when it was on offer? yeah, sure. Joe would be fresher also. but continue with your usual boring bias posts. why change the habit of a life time?

Calzaghe would beat any version of Toney. so no, he's not coming close to knocking him out.

which fighters that Toney knocked out would have you believe he could do the same to Joe?

and lastly... are you a British Muslim?? :think

so he was winning. nuff said. Joe wasn't dominating, they guy who had more points was.

not old hop in a fast paced fight.

the fight can only run for 12 rounds, soits immaterial if joe would be fit enough to last 15 or 20 when younger.
If you read this logic as bias then I cant help you.

so no what? I didn't say toney stops joe.

Seems you don't even know who you are replying to. Try a deep breath and rereading, and re-reply when you are actually ready to this time.

Didn't Joe get dropped like a bad habit by Salem??

For one, Joe would have NEVER fought at HW..

For two, Ruiz would knock him out.

25 idiots think he outboxes Ruiz? How exactly? Joe was easier to hit than Roy, his stand and trade high output style would NOT work at HW... I honestly think he doesn't survive the first round.

    Joe was a special fighter...

But that has nothing to do with him being successful at a weight he NEVER even came close to attempting...

As a matter of fact, he recently called Roy "Superman" for being able to move up and beat Ruiz...

Joe did not have the style to make HW fighters miss, and didn't have the power to keep them honest... I have seen Joe dropped by much lesser shots than a much bigger Ruiz' right hand would be.

    Not to mention...

I honestly believe this thread was an attempt to discredit Roy for beating Ruiz, by a Calzaghe fan, none the less.

The people saying Joe stops Ruiz should be ashamed... Had this been public, they would not have picked that..

I think the 25 that picked Joe would outbox Ruiz "beautifully" Really don't know boxing in my opinion... For one, Joe's style was effective, but when was it ever "beautiful?" and why would it be against a much bigger, ugly styled Ruiz...

I like Calzaghe but I don't think he has the punch to keep Ruiz off of him and get his respect. Calzaghe was what, about 175-180 lbs in the ring at LHW? Roy Jones went up to 199 (not 193) lbs when he fought Ruiz and the extra weight probably helped him absorb Ruiz's punches even if it did slow him down a bit. Calzaghe is a mover and he doesn't have Jones' physique. I don't see Calzaghe putting on 15-20 lbs and not losing his speed and stamina.

Calzaghe was a good fighter but after watching him struggle with the bigger Hopkins, even if he fought a near perfect fight he would still lose to Ruiz..

Ruiz beat Holyfield back in 2000 when Holy still had something in the tank, sorry if he bats Holy on points he most likely KO'S CALZAGHE:deal..

Ruiz at 230 would outweigh him by about 30 or so pounds, he also has a lot more power, strength, and Calzaghe wouldn't have enough size or the punch to keep Ruiz off him, Ruiz would wear him down and most likely stop him late...
