HG, JC beat Starie on points in a poor fight. Can't see how people think Dean Francis would of beaten Froch? No chance his style absolutely ideal for Froch and in a war only one of their chins would stand up and it's certainly not Francis.Carr,Delaney a few levels below Froch.
aha u mean joe calzaghe, not john carr? yes starie wasn't bad, but unable to step up to the world stage, not a good contender.not sure why he was given 2 title shots, nevermind 1 - though the other was against that great fakir Sven Otke, I note.
It wasnt great. Calzaghe had been suffering injuries and not sparring and neither did much. I felt Starie froze a bit against Ottke after a very good start
Dont think you should really be commenting on this thread as you had it wrong about Starie when you mentioned him on your first post on this thread. Please exit the thread. It is only for posters who know the fights and fighters to be able to pass comment
Henry Wharton good fight /styles would mesh well/ henry was a tough in your face /granite chinned trier who came up just short nagaint benn and eubank. froch height /reach and poower would keep henry at bay and froch wins slighty wider than benn and eubank. herol graham /very hard to call fight, would need to see how froch coped with the bomber /he gave kaylor fits a tall stand up orthodox fighter/but strugled with kalambay/ froch himself is adaptable and longer and stronger than graham who was a light middle at his peak, number 1 contender for years but always ducked. froch on size and strength but herol could have frustrated him. dean francis calzaghe kod him in 1 in the amatuers and he hurt his shoulder eaerly in his career from memory froch ko 5 Cornelius Carr i remember him vaguely ,he was an opponent for someone of note cannot remeber whobut froch beat a whos who of 168 fighters so froch win here Mark Delaney was a decent british boxer/ puncher who fought calzaghe in a british title fight. it was one sided and he was in over his head, no shame just british level was his max and froch was a top class world level operator. watson would have given froch a very good fight/technically sound/good defense and good workrate .
Someone (yourself) who doesnt even know of the boxer or has not watched him and got the facts all wrong with regards to the boxer, has even less of an opinion and cannot pass comment. Please move on
I'm not moving anywhere, your word has nothing on me. apart from that well said but who is this someone?
Starie was a decent British/Commonwealth level fighter, nothing more, Froch would batter him. Yes, he got two World title shots but they were against two cherry pickers in Calzaghe and Ottke.
