This is tough.. Juan Diaz lacks the power to hurt Chico. I think Chico could catch Juan late and knock him out.. but then again, if it hits the scorecards, I find it almost impossible for Chico to win a decision against Juan Diaz. Workrate's too much.. a technical boxer might be be able to outbox Juan to a decision, but Chico will surely stand and trade with Juan all night.

It would be one hell of a fight though! Hard to pick a winner..

im gonna go with chico... when he was at his best i think its hard for any stationary target who is NOT a near peak castillo to beat him. I love baby bull but i think corrales wins close in a war.

A prime Castillo is more tougher than the feather fisted but throws a lot of punches Diaz. So I would go with Chico by ko.

I think Juan Diaz could use his workrate, speed, and better boxing to win himself a decision, i havent seen him hurt and dont think it'd be easy for Chico to knock him out because of his chin and decent defense..

He definitely could not knock Chico out though, power just isnt enough, maybe a stoppage....

I like Diaz, but I do feel he is lucky to be in this rather weak division @ 135.

Do any of you see him being successful @ 135 a few years ago against the likes of Mayweather, Castillo, or Corrales?

    Me neither.

Chico in his prime was an elite boxer puncher. To beat Chico you had to either have exceptional boxing skills or serious firepower. Juan Diaz falls in between, I dont think he has the neccessary pop to have discouraged chico nor does he have the defense to have avoided chicos bombs, so logic tells me Chico would have won a late TKO.
