Prime Chocolatito Gonzalez vs Inoue

Yes Cuadras was better than Narvaez at 115 lbs, because Omar Narvaez at 115 lbs was not on his prime like in 112 lbs.

In any case it's a shame that the four kings Cuadras, Chocolatito, Srisaket Sor Rungvisai and Estrada didn't fight against Jerwin Ancajas, Naoya Inoue, Kazuto Ioka, Kosei Tanaka, Omar Narvaez, Donnie Nietes and Junto Nakatani.


I remember well that Jerwin Ancajas (IBF ) wanted in the past unify against Srisaket Sor Rungvisai (WBC) and Junto Nakatani / Naoya Inoue both wanted in the past to be against Estrada / Chocolatito.


It's sure that was the will of the wbc but it's still a lot of names that the four kings didn't fight what a shame !

 

I think in the Inoue's period at 115 lbs (Super Flyweight ) period 2014-2017 the ranking was this one :

1- Juan Francisco Estrada

2- Srisaket Sor Rungvisai

3- Chocolatito (not good at 115 lbs like at 112 or 108 lbs but still a beast during this period)

4- Naoya Inoue (not on his prime still young and still not too much experimented specially in 2015)

5- Carlos Cuadras (still very underrated)

6- Donnie Nietes

7- Kazuto Ioka

8- Jerwin Ancajas

9- Omar Narvaez (not on his prime anymore it was more in 112 lbs)

10- Rex Tso ( he beat the tough Japanese Kohei Kono not on his prime but it's still a big fact at this moment)

 

Well dude, you are a little loose with the chronology of the division. In 2014 after Narvaez was defeated, he stopped being a noble entity at super flyweight. From 2016-2022, Gonzalez, Estrada, Rungvisai and Cuadras were all occupied with each other, which kind of left Inoue and others out in the wild. Inoue tried to make fights against Ancajas and Yafai, but both turned down offers and that was what made Inoue to move up to bantamweight. Nietes and Ioka fought each other, guys like Tanaka and Nakatani came late and they missed out.

 

Yes I wanted to speak about the period of Inoue at 115 lbs I corrected after 2014-2017
Nakatani comes later but he comes when Estrada and Chocolatito was still very active in the category, the same but more later for Kosei Tanaka, Chocolatito was well ranked by the WBO during a time in the beggin of 2025 there was rumors that he will be against Phumelela Cafu for the WBO belt, Cafu who defeated by controversial victory Kosei Tanaka.

In anyway it's a shame that we didn't have the fight of the four kings against all of these top boxers...

 

Inoue finally hit full stride in the Donaire rematch - at 118. The only weight Choco and Inoue could have fought at was 115 where it'd be fair to favour Naoya.

But Roman was always the smaller man at 115 - in a redhot division. At 112 he was awesome. That'd be the fairest time to match. Gotta favour Roman at 105 and 108. When Inou
