Will go down...Marciano died 50 yrs ago , he has already gone down in history. AS AN UNDEFEATED, UNSTOPPABLE HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION. An alltime great who in the last century was on most top 10 pfp lists let alone heavyweight lists. Some of you people are just morons. Revisionist MO-rons.

I've followed boxing for nearly 60 years and I've never seen Marciano's name on any top ten P4P list, nor does it feature as such in any of the over 100 books I own on boxing.

Andy Jackson was considered an American Hero in 1895. Another 100 years has corrected that assessment.

    Pretty long bow to draw.

Comparing the standing of a President who dispossessed Native Americans from their tribal lands (and rightly has suffered historically) to that of an undisputed heavyweight champion who fought all of his best contenders, granted rematches to his toughest opponents, showed extreme in the ring courage and acquitted himself with class and dignity as champion.

Yeah you're probably sounding off about how perceptions of people change but even making this comparison shows that there's an underlying agenda at play that speaks volumes about yourself. You can't credit an iconic white guy for what they achieved without besmirching them, their character or indeed their achievements. Moldcott seriously?

Pray tell what Marciano could have done to salve the sh1t on the liver you have for him? Been 6 inches taller? 30 pounds heavier? Lost a fight? Been black? Other than that he did what he could, in the time he competed, against the best of his era, overcoming physical disadvantages to do so.

    Some opportunist!

Ring named him fourth greatest HW ever in 94 the seventh best puncher ever in 97 and the 9th greatest fighter of all time in 99. AP also named him as the 3rd best HW ever in 99.
